This show is tremendous, too bad many on the GoT arent watching it.
Team Daemon BTW. I love his character.

Six months passed from the end of the last episode and this one. Her dad and her best friend have been spending time together for six months and she didn't have a clue?
I think a lot of people misinterpreted something that was said. Viserys asked Alicent if she had been telling Rhaenyra what they have been talking about. A lot of people took this to mean it was some kind of secret that they were meeting.
I just took it as Viserys not wanting Alicent to share their private conversations with Rhaenyra or anyone. There is no way it was a secret those two were hanging out.

what if a king dies before he tells his heir
Isn’t that what happened with Robert’s Rebellion and why Danny wouldn’t have known? The two people with that information were killed.

Corlys sided with her at Council when she suggested sending the dragonriders to deal with Daemon's shite
Wasn’t that about the Stepstones, not Daemon? Only thing she said about Daemon was asking which egg he took.

Who gives a fricking shite?
The books had tons of lesbians or bisexuals, a lot of them in power, and some of them Targaryen even.
Do you people really think lesbians just came to exist in the past twenty years? Do you push these thoughts away while watching two girls get it on when you jerk off?

Why not? Does she seem like a meek child who always obeys her father?
So in your mind, a husband doesn’t have a second to explain to his wife she is gonna die but they can possibly save the baby before she is ripped open. No time for that. Nope, just get to it. She knows what she signed up for.
But a cupbearer can halt a small council meeting when the King is making an important announcement to ask her buddy why she is there? It seemed to be a spur of the moment thing and they were on opposite sides of the room.
Literally everyone thought he was gonna marry Laena, including Otto and Alicent. They already told Rhaenyra to STFU earlier.

another small (maybe) nitpick...viserys says that aegon's secret dream has been passed from king to heir ever since...and the secret never got out? its never been discussed elsewhere? what if a king dies before he tells his heir
Isn't this dream/prophesy what all of the Lord of Light priests/priestesses talk about in GoT all the time? The Prince/Princess that was promised to defeat eternal winter. The Targaryen being in charge angle is different obviously, but the just of the story is the same.

Seeing as you're the only one that thinks that, you might ask yourself that question.
I’m the only one that thinks that? Cause two idiots on a message board don’t understand this simple thing. Him deciding not to tell his wife what was about to happen was possibly the biggest takeaway from episode 1 that people brought up.
Jaime was more considerate, kind, and thoughtful killing Olenna than Viserys was with his wife. The point of the scene was to show Viserys lacked the intestinal fortitude to tell his wife. Just like he avoided consoling his daughter.

The one character this show seems to be missing thus far is the cunning, mysterious schemer who’s playing both sides like a Varys, or Baelish. Maybe one gets introduced later in the story (if you know, don’t spoil it…I’d like to find out on my own)

I figure it's Otto Hightower. He's poisoned the throne to slowly kill the king. He's pretty much forced his daughter on the king even though she's a lesbian with the King's daughter which is causing stress on her to rip hangnails out of her fingertips.
This show is awesome.

If you believe the theories the maesters are playing everyone including the targs

Is that mentioned in the books, because the show hasn't hinted at that at all.

Otto reminds me more of Tywin, in that both are cunning but not mysterious. It’s pretty obvious what both are up to….with Varys and Baelish, nobody really knew for sure what their motives were.

This except they are obvious in their intentions. Tywin in GoT though could be straight up his intentions because everyone in the realm had borrowed money from him. So his intentions were never hidden.

If you think about it everything that took place up in GoT including the death of about every major character he had something to do with.

She seems like someone who’s upset no matter the situation. First she wanted to be a tough girl not involved in politics and now she’s upset that she might not get the throne she didn’t want in the first place.

Actually incorrect hence why Alicent was invited into the small council. Surprised no one on the council her being there. That had to be the biggest giveaway the moment the camera showed her.

Yeah, but what about Winter is Coming? And the Wall that had been there for, what, thousands of years? If the dream winter coming from the North was a secret it wasn't a very well kept secret. Seems all of Westeros knew about, at least as some sort of fairy tale.
