i want to watch the entire show in chronological order. not all mixed up like they do.

It also bugged me that they had Ted leave in the middle of the fricking reception.
Yeah, I was talking to my wife about what a douche move from Ted that was but then I realized that after a season of building up Robin & Barney's wedding, they were about to throw it all away.

Ted is the Captain America for betas.

So I could've just skipped the entire show and watched the finale, because nothing that happened during the run makes a difference.

yes it does, stop overreacting
i will say this about barney's arc…he wants to be there for his daughter unlike his father, who was not there for him.

I loved this finale and thought it was perfect for this show. Except the last 5 minutes.

yup. love it up until the last commercial break.

Anyone who doesn't like the rest of this episode doesn't get this show at all. It was perfect for what they've done.
But that ending. Sigh.

No, it doesn't. All the character development with Robin and Ted this season was for nothing. Robin turned into a career obsessed woman after marrying Barney and completely walked out on the relationship. Ted let her go, only to meet the mother, and dick around with marrying her while not having her present at those Big Moments Lilly talked about. Then she dies, and Ted runs right back to Robin. They could've skipped the last two seasons.

I actually liked Barney the dad, but I wished Barney could've been happy with someone. We never met #31.

I enjoyed it, some parts were meh, but overall I liked it.
Thought it was quite realistic, Ted should have ended up with Robin. Would have been pissed if he didn't, it's what the show is all about.
The whole show is about Robin and Ted to me, Tracy was the roadblock that was only in his life for what, 10 years? Then she dies. While Robin was in his life from the early years when she first moved to New York, until they die 40+ years later.
Barney having a kid to finally grow up, not a failed marriage, perfect. Couldn't have ended it better. Be there for your kid, too common these days for kids to be raised by a mom and dad separately through visitation whether divorced or like Barney's situation.
Idk, I liked it all, thought it was "real".

What a bunch of miserable bastards in here.
The finale sucked.
The first 6 or 5 seasons were great until Barney and robin got together. The show wasn't good since then

Let me say this: I'd of been fine with it ending with the mother dying. Ted talking about all the things he had to go through to get that time.

Missed the episode, but curious of what happened. Can someone give me the cliff notes version of the episode?
Posted on 3/31/14 at 9:39 pm to quail man
If you want to rewatch the entire show, You really could skip the entire season this year and just watch the last three episodes and it would actually be better. You wouldn't get those feels for the mother.

Looking back, it's even easier to get pissed at the writers. It was an abbreviated season and the point of it all was thrown out in less than 15 minutes of the finale. Think about that when you look back at some of the "filler" episodes from this last season.

Marshall's life is shite after Hawaii for a few years after Italy til he finally gets a judgeship.
Lily spits out a third kid.
Ted and Tracy don't get married for a long time.
Barney and robin get divorced quickly and robin tells lily she should of married ted.
Barney goes back to being Barney til he has a kid, but that may be temporary cause he tells the group he will always be himself.
Tracy dies.
Ted goes get the French horn for robin in a suit exactly like the pilot after his kids say the story was about robin and he should go get her because they are good together and the mom has been dead for 6 years.

I would've laughed if when they cut to Ted to end the story and he says "and that's how I met your mother" it was actually Bob Saget.
Posted on 3/31/14 at 9:44 pm to Dam Guide
Anyone else hoping Bob Saget would be the one interacting with the kids at the end?
