Terrible ending to the show. The show was predicated on love and finding the one. Instead Robin chooses her career over Barney, and then when Ted finally meets the one, the perfect girl for him, they fricking kill her and he chooses the selfish bitch. So terrible.
Why couldn't the finale have been an hour long of the reception mixed with flashbacks and forwards until the end when Ted has to leave, they say their goodbyes and then he meets her and stays in New York because of her. Then they can reveal that she got sick and he is telling the story either right before or after her death.

Would've been perfect. The payoff of them meeting at the train station would've been all we needed. Instead, Ted is left talking to some old hag about the bass player that he had never talked to.

But what would the first 7 seasons have been about if Ted marrying the mother was the conclusion of the show?

Fuuuckk...they should have just gone the most obvious route and made Robin the mom instead of this shite. Did they not even try to age Robin at the end there?

That's why I'm fine with how the very end played out. He really was telling the story of him and Robin. I just have a big problem with how they got us there.

Ted growing up. Your first love is not always the one you marry. With what they did this season, I thought that's where we were headed.

Going through life to find the one? You know.. Life.

Hey kids let me sit you down and talk about how I thought of your mom as a consolation prize.

Exactly. The show was never meant to be about how Ted met the mother. Even his kids (who were speaking for the writers) confirmed that. Now how they got us there was crappy, but I think a lot of that had to do with them having to make up crap in order to extend the show 3 or 4 seasons longer than it should've gone.

No he wasn't. Because nothing was going to happen with him and Robin after his story was over until his kids told him to.

His whole reason for telling them the story is so they would give him their blessing on pursuing Robin. That was even stated.

Robin sucked
Tracy ruled.
Tracy ruled.

I was really hoping this would be ted telling the story to the kids from his deathbed. That prick deserved to die.

Did you get this from the stripper named Tracy episode where the kids freaked out? Lots of people have been predicting this name from that episode.

That's news to about 99% of the fans

Ted is a piece of shite.
Don't blame Ted for the writers gut punching the show by destroying the characters of the show in order to drag it out 3 or 4 years longer than it should've gone.
