So the character who got fricked the most was Barney. He didn't fall in love but had a child. Now he can't get laid because he has a daughter and understands what it means. He got screwed

Yes those kids... Are they Robin's or Barney's?

not literally.
so apparently the children shot their last scene 9 years ago. that's crazy. i knew it was during an early season but not that long ago.

Liked it up until the last 5 minutes. Wouldve been great if the end was saying an emotional goodbye to his wife.
Going to robin again, and the kids being excited about it is weird and unrealistic. They bult up the mother character so well this season and then ruined it in 10 mins.

In terms of comedy finales this wasn't good.

Someone didn't watch the whole episode
They were Robin's projection of what her kids could've been like after she found out she couldn't have them

exact same feels for me
I was fine with the barney and robin divorce, but it made me hate how much fricking time we spent on the wedding this year. But I said at that moment, if this is setting up for Ted and Robin, frick this show.
and dammit if they didn't do it to me

I don't remember them ever saying that those kids weren't real... Either way I'm pretty disappointed with the finale

Robin says at the end of that episode, "but you aren't real" point blank

Symphony of Illusion
quote:
Robin goes for a walk in Central Park, where it is revealed that she was imagining the whole narration of her talking to her kids. When she gets back to the apartment, she walks in to see that Ted has prepared a whole 'Symphony of Illumination' for Robin. Robin starts crying in Ted's arms. Future Ted reveals that she never became a "pole vaulter" but a famous journalist, a successful businesswoman, a world traveler, and, apparently, a bullfighter.

For what it's worth, it alluded to her being sick in the episode where Robin's mom shows up at the end
Yeah I know but the woman who plays the mother denied that the mother was dead in an interview earlier in the season.
I don't get why Barney HAD to grow up. Joey didn't and Friends ended just fine. The point of a sitcom like this is to take us away from reality for a bit without the whole thing being ridiculous. Barney was the one aspect of the show that was super ridiculous (well that and the fine bitches Mosby bagged AMIRITE?).
But like I and most other people said, Barney marrying a stripper is just about the only way you could have made him grow up while also being true to himself.

I got into the show in the beginning, but then half heartedly watched a few seasons. Then my life matched up with the show perfectly. Everyone I knew, including myself, was getting married, having babies, and struggling with what career to choose. It was fun growing into an adult with the characters. Making a night legendary to feel the repercussions of the wrong text message or a big task the next day. I guess it's just a blind want for shows to end in a happy ever after, but I wasn't looking for the Mom to get sick. After the umbrella scene you knew they were perfect for each other. Was it the best show? No, but I really enjoyed it for a long time.

What a bunch of miserable bastards in here.

Thats what he gets for leaving Nora/The Stripper
And im glad he got a daughter. He showed signs of wanting children earlier in the series which is another reason Barney/Robin sucked together

That was the sad part for me. She was so perfect that it almost made me like Ted again this season. Then, they just shite on it in ten minutes.
It also bugged me that they had Ted leave in the middle of the fricking reception.
