But what would the first 7 seasons have been about if Ted marrying the mother was the conclusion of the show?
The lessons he learned in life about dating, and why their mother was different. Why she was "the one"

Anyways....I can safely say I am never rewatching this crap show.

I'll absolutely rewatch, just stick to the first 5 or 6 seasons

Did you get this from the stripper named Tracy episode where the kids freaked out? Lots of people have been predicting this name from that episode
Lol...really I thought the guy asked me what I thought robins mom's name was....and then I said that. Because she was played by Tracy Ullman.

But why would he be telling his kids about a dating life which revolved around Robin, if it was meant to be about how he met their mom? The show always revolved around Ted's love for Robin.

They shouldn't of included as much mother and definitely not made her as likable.
before this episode, people were bitching about how little they included the mother

I knew it was all coming and it still pissed me off. Horrible ending. The entire season ment nothing. I won't watch any reruns of this crapfest. They ruined this show. Also, I'll be sure not to watch any of "How I Met Your Father." Anyone affiliated with this can go frick themselves.
Yeah, I'm mad.
Yeah, I'm mad.

Thats what he gets for leaving Nora/The Stripper
And im glad he got a daughter. He showed signs of wanting children earlier in the series which is another reason Barney/Robin sucked together
Yes he should've ended up with Nora. She would have "changed him". But we knew this was gonna happen. It was Ted going back to Robin all along. Just sucks how they pretty much wasted what him & the mother had. The umbrella scene showed how much they really were alike. Wished they would have given us more of that

WTF was the point of even meeting the mother. Disappointing ending.

The whole point of his story to his kids wasn't about meeting their mother. It was a red herring. His daughter even said that. Why is that so hard to understand?

I think I may have been okay with it had we not had soooo many moments where Ted reduces to crying like a bitch because he still loves robin over the years
It became a storyline so frustrating and seemingly pointless that I just rolled by eyes and shouted "frick Ted, quit being such a pussy" every time it happened.
It just became annoying and having them actually end up together now seems lazy and the easy way out.
I don't know, I'm jsut rambling on and on about this. I'm going to bed

one thing ive taken away from this season- i thought the mom was a terrific actress.

The ending makes sense if you take a step back and look at the series as a whole. I don't like the whole season they spent at Barney and Robins wedding, but I'm ok with the way they ended it. Ted was just lying to himself when he told his kids he would tell them the story of how he met their mother. Well, it was in a way about that but it was also about his affection for Robin and how he became the man that he is in the present. The mother played a huge role in that but she has been gone for a while and needs to move on to be happy.
