HBO’s upcoming series House of the Dragon — the highly anticipated prequel series to Game of Thrones — will bring woke gender politics to novelist George R. R. Martin’s universe by exploring “internalized misogyny,” the “patriarchy,” and other feminist tropes.

The new series follows the relationship between two women — Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen — who are close friends as children but who become adversaries as adults.

In an interview with Indiewire, one of the stars explained the show’s feminist spin.

“House of the Dragon really creates a nuanced conversation of misogyny,” actress Milly Alcock told Indiewire.

“We don’t only explore it through a level of women being shut down and the patriarchy, but also go in-depth about the internalized misogyny that women are constantly faced with, and the competitiveness. Alicent and Rhaenyra’s relationship is at the forefront of that conversation.”

Caught a whiff of this from earlier interviews. I won't be watching this or the Lord of the Rings trash from Amazon.

Maybe one day they will realize their audience is NOT their industry and media peers. Saying this stuff out loud rather than letting the theme speak for itself is just pure virtue signaling

I guess I’ll give the pilot a shot but I don’t have high hopes at all for this

Every article that comes out makes me want to not even bother

I watched part of Gladiator this weekend and towards the beginning is a scene where Richard Harris is talking to Connie Nielsen and he says if she had been a son, she would have been a great Caesar but instead it will her brother that he knows is a frick up. There is the exact same message done the right way, it’s a natural part of the story, simple not a bunch of 21st century academic jibberish. We also she her endure abuse and mistreatment by her brother and emerge strong at the end of the movie all with our beating us over the head with a stupid message

Agreed. I think part of the theme will be a mistrust of women, which is in the book, but the trailer told us that. Maybe they go too extreme with it, and it ends up being a terrible series, I don't know. The actress herself is virtue signaling, but her words don't really tell me anything I didn't already know. That's just my thinking, I'm still holding out hope for it because it's not Dumb and Dumber behind it, it's good source material and HBO %90 gives me quality content.

This. Nobody, and I mean nobody watches GOT in order to be educated about "internal misogyny". I don't even know what the frick that is an frankly I have no desire to find out.

People watch GOT for dragons, fire, beheadings, chickens, and yes, titties.

Is this Hollywood talk for bitches be crazy and fighting each other? Of course they blame it on a man, couldn't possibly be their own fault.

This sentence killed any interest I had in the series.

I am so out.

Enjoy the show, you creepy male feminists!
