only if you have to have everything.
and No commercials which is worth paying more than cable.

I have like 5 episodes left of Sopranos. Thankfully there’s a free 1 week trial
Posted on 5/22/20 at 8:29 am to Adam Banks
I have YouTube TV, Disney+, Amazon Prime (which we'd have anyway for shipping), and Netflix. CONSIDERABLY cheaper than the DirecTV package I had before switching.

You have snail internet? At best it’s the same price. At worst it’s an overpay due to no bundle
YouTube tv 50$ Netflix 12$ Disney plus 10$. Mind you if you are an nba or mlb fan not having the local regional sports affiliate is huge
Directv choice (far more channels total but same sports channels plus regional sports affiliate etc.) 50$ With any sort of savings On Internet by bundling you come out ahead. Mind you there are cheaper packages available
I will grant there are some benefits I.e. cancel anytime but we will see if YouTube TV holds up long term like that.
however the “there wont be bundling it will be a la crate and cheap” was a lie.

The frick?
I get cable (including Hbo showtime etc and netflix) + fiber for 120 a month
Youtube TV alone is 50 a month
Internet is 50 a month
That's already 100 bucks and you don't have any of the premium channels included

If it wasn't for streaming you wouldn't already have internet?
That's like including the purchase price of your TV as a part of your cable expenditures.

you literally cant watch YouTube TV without the internet but you can watch cable/directv.
His point was that internet with cable or satellite is typically cheaper.
If you want to watch live sports YouTube TV is essentially mandatory. Same price as cable. Yet the same internet speed is likely to be more expensive since you didn’t bundle. you also are likely missing out on some nice perks like premium channels free Sunday ticket etc.

Well in a way it is.
But it's going to be more complicated and a bigger clusterfrick to deal with now that you pay less.
But you have a point. The more streaming gets fractured like its going right now, the more people are just going to switch back to cable and pay more for convenience.

Add up netflix hulu Disney prime hbo max YouTube tv plus a non bundled internet price
It was. And the cable companies are doing the screwing once again.
So you should still be mad at the cable companies. Not people who were tired of being ripped off.
I was saving $200/month when I cut cable.
Still saving now, but not as much because internet prices have been jacked up. I have prime and Disney, so that's $14/month and cox now charges me like $106/month for internet.

Blame the city you live in
In Houston internet speeds keep going up and prices stay relatively the same
I'm paying the same price for 1 gb/s as i was for 15 mb/s a few years ago

you can cancel any of those packages at any time to make it cheaper any time you like, unlike cable.
Time Warner/Spectrum hasn't forced me into a contract in over 10 years.

Pretty sure you can watch the Sopranos right now on HBOGo without a subscription.
Even if you aren't subscribed to hbo?

Son of a bitch, Amazon could've at least warned me this was coming.
I was watching the wire for the first time and just got to the murder at the docks investigation in season 2.
Went to watch episode 3 and Amazon wanted money for it.

Not true. Here is our setup:
YouTubeTV (which came to an agreement with regional sports networks): $50
200mbps Internet: $50
Netflix: Free as T-Mobile customer
Disney+: $7
I don't count Amazon as part of the deal because we'd have that either way just for the shipping.
So that takes us to $107 per month. Satellite plus internet was $170.

My directv Bill is $47 a month
