Son of a bitch, Amazon could've at least warned me this was coming.

I was halfway through Sopranos season 5 (I've never watched the whole series before). I watch at least two episodes each night and never got a warning.

Pretty sure you can watch the Sopranos right now on HBOGo without a subscription.

It’s because HBO Max is launching on the 27th and will be just like Netflix. Every provider will carry it as an add-on app and if you currently have HBO you will get it for no additional charge

They are basically combining all things HBO with the whole WarnerMedia catalog, DC comics, and original programming.

It would've been nice to get a warning that they were dripping it. I could've tried to finish the series.

I'm not going to pay for HBO but maybe I can finish the rest during a 7 day free trial.

You don't have to have all of those things you know. If you feel like you do, you would likely have all of them anyway with cable with the exception of youtube tv which is still considerably cheaper than cable.

Streaming is more of a pain in the arse than paying for cable.

Just like there's FX, Hulu and then there's FX on Hulu. Some FX shows are on Prime, some are on Hulu, etc. It's a clusterfrick.

These add on services are out of control: Netflix, Hulu, Prime, CBS All access, Peacock, HBO max, Disney Plus, YouTube Red, Vudu, etc. etc. It's too much.

If you need live sports and premium channels like HBO you’re not saving any money by cord cutting

You’re at worst costing the same as cable packages and you can cancel any of those packages at any time to make it cheaper any time you like, unlike cable. Sounds like the cheaper and better option either way

You can maybe save a few bucks, but in return you get a more disjointed interface.

I do both cable and stream (on firesticks). I have Disney+. The integration isn't quite there; there are times I do a search for a movie (Disney) on Amazon, and it doesn't show me the Disney+ option. Instead it wants me to buy something.
In contrast, if I search something on cable (Cox), it finds the free (already paid for) option.

And say what you want, cable is the best/safest route for live sports, which is what I'm interested in.

Yep, we have a Roku and I got the wife the Hallmark Channel.

Turns out we were getting charged by Roku and Hallmark for the monthly subscription.

It was a pain trying to fix it. Hell, not even sure if we did. I don't see our bill. Maybe I need to ask the wife...
