That's the rumor anyway.

They are also rumored to be having the scripted division of the platform axed and replaced with a division that focuses exclusively on unscripted content. We will probably get the official word tomorrow after the quarterly report is released. Batgirl was just the beginning. WB is about to get a MASSIVE overhaul.
You say this and then link to an article that says nothing like that. You really think that HBO is going to stop airing scripted content?

“Sounds like they’re not doing HBO Max scripted shows anymore with HBO taking over, so less scripted shows overall,” says one company insider.

What does that even mean? Because it reads like scripted HBO Max shows are getting scrubbed because HBO took over HBO Max.

I think "HBO Max" originals will be getting the axe. HBO originals will be fine.

HBO Max and HBO are two different things.

HBO Max is losing its scripted content. So shows like Tokyo Vice, The Time Traveler's Wife, and Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin are probably going to die a quick and painless death.

If they kill all of the Max shows that includes Peacemaker and Doom Patrol.

They are also killing all original scripted content on TNT and TBS. Don't be shocked if the HBO shows get massively paired down too.

This new guy doesn't give a shite about quality or shows w/strong but smaller fanbases. He wants cheap bullshite reality crap or mega hits w/scripted content. No mid level scripted shows will be safe.

He wants to combine the god awful Netflix model w/the god awful Discovery model. It's going to ruin HBO for the time being.

It’s really hard to know what is HBO Max and what is HBO content bc I watch everything through the app.

I assume that’s what most people do.

Other than Game of Thrones, I don’t know if anything else is “appointment television” and the world is a better place for it.

It’s up there with CDs and television channels showing music videos as things that will never be viable again.

I wonder if Discovery will now carry HBO series and movies or if they will go back to the HBOGO format.

What shows does Discovery have to offer compared to HBO?

Discovery is a step cup from MTV (which is the bottom of the barrel for TV.)

I signed up for Alone, 48 hours and some Food Network shows like Chopped, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Anthony Bourdain, Travel shows, etc.

But then you get Ads for total crap.

90 Day Fiance
600 lb life
1000 lb sister
Sister Wives
My big fat American wedding
Unexpected (basically teen Moms)
Real Housewives

An Amy Schumer show, Drag Queen shows and tons of shows about flipping Houses and Cats.

Am I misunderstanding this, or does it mean that shows like Hacks, Peacemaker, Tokyo Vice, and The Flight Attendant could be screwed?

ETA: Just read the rest of the thread - it would really suck to lose Tokyo Vice.

Awesome show and Guy Fieri is a national treasure. You don't have to be an a-hole to have a food show.

That is what it sounds like.

Glad everyone got their jollies about the woke Batgirl project being cancelled because it was woke. Turns out it was one of at least three finished movies totally scrapped. The other being an animated scooby doo feature and the house party reboot. 6 hbo max original movies were removed from the service today.

Not sure what exactly is going on, but discovery is working extra hard today to frick up the best major streaming service.

What the actual frick? HBO has put out nothing but fantastic quality scripted shows for multiple decades now.

They are ditching that in favor of more reality TV bullshite?
