The Stoned Age.
In hindsight, this so-called "terrible" movie bridged the gap between Dazed & Confused and Superbad. I think it should be just as revered.
Nah, who am I kidding? I just randomly thought about Lanie this morning and thought maybe you guys would like the nostalgia hit.

I don't remember The Stoned Age at all.
But yeah, sick days were awesome. I loved the game shows...
8AM - Cartoons
9AM - Family Feud
10AM - Price is Right
11AM - Soap Operas start up. Switch to Nickelodeon the rest of the day and for Nick in the Afternoon.

Same here, and I was 14/15 in '94 so this movie should've hit me perfectly a couple years later. But I don't even really remember that it existed or the name of it. Weird.

So smoking she just randomly popped up in my head 32 years later.

Sick days in the early 90's for me:
6:00am - Wake up. Cough, puke, whatever. Get formal notice from the parental units that it will be a sick day. Go back to sleep.
10:00am - Wake up again. Cough, puke, whatever. Drink a coffee.
11:00am - Frozen pizza and Price is Right time!
12:00pm - Take a nap on the couch.
2:00-3:00pm - Wake up. Put Cubs game on WGN. Maybe more coughing and puking. Get ice cream.

Are you talking college sick days? You drank coffee as a kid?

Frozen pizza or toaster strudel.

Anybody else's puke bowl was also their popcorn bowl? I'd puke in something one morning and the next day be eating popcorn out of it and not think twice about it

Look at you fancy people with cable as a kid. The day sucked for me starting at 11. I could occasionally get by with the lunch news and talk show, but it was no man's land between noon and 3:00 for me until the after-school kids shows fired back up again.

This.
Later years getting in some gaming on the family computer playing Oregon Trail or Where in the World is Carmen Santiago depending on how "sick" I was.

Where I grew up one of the shitty television channels (think more budget than WB) would have some old reruns of stuff like F Troop or I Dream of Jeanie after the end of the Price is Right.
I didn't understand why I liked Barbara Eden but I really liked Barbara Eden

I’ve read a thousand variations on this over the years but made me chuckle nonetheless.

For me it was the 80's but we didn't have cable, so I watched weird shite on PBS.
