Why? So he can look like an even bigger titty baby?

And all of our popular cultures come out of this time in New Orleans where Black people and white people and indigenous people and the Spanish and all these people were free. And it was short-lived, but it was long enough to produce this amazing, unique culture.

What exactly was short lived? Their freedom? ??

Can these people say this with a straight face?

It better be big, internationally, because it's bombing here. It's going to have an opening weekend of 25 million. Yikes!

How is Barbie doing 2nd week? Any serious drop off?

Is advertising included in the "you must make back 2.5X your cost" rule? If it is, Barbie needs to make something like $615M to show a profit.

Of course Disney gave the movie reboot of one of its most iconic attractions to the guy who made "Dear White People."

My family and I went to see it at a 3pm showtime (too hot to do anything else)
Kids 8 and 14 kinda loved it. Fun cast so we actually all enjoyed it for what it was, the connection to the actual ride was pretty cool. But that's just us, I didn't feel any woke bs but we didn't exactly focus on looking for it either

Correct. That mansion is based on the Harry Packer Mansion in Jim Thorpe, PA.

mean I agree but this I’m ok with because it’s NOLA. Also 7 of the top 10 on the actor call sheet are white. What’s the big deal? 30% of the actors in a Disney movie that takes place in NOLA is black?

Why are you asking us?

It’s a big deal to Disney and the director. You should tell them it ain’t black enough.

Same. Took my son to see it last night. It was cute, he loved it. He liked seeing some of the callbacks to the ride and the NOLA scenery.

Washington Post reviewer said it is a boring mess. But it sounds like TD posters' kids are nonetheless enjoying it.

quote:

If you had high expectations for “Haunted Mansion” — the movie based on the Disneyland theme park ride of the same name — I have some bad news. With muddy CGI, far too much story for even its two-hour run time and an emotional heart in cardiac arrest, “Haunted Mansion” simply doesn’t hold together. What should have been a light summer romp is rarely funny, never scary and a boring mess.

Wasn't that the movie that started the whole "black people don't have power so therefore can't be racist"?
I know that came from a movie and I think it was dear white people.

I just got back from seeing it. Unless you are talking behind the scenes I could not tell in the movie.

You had Rosario Dawson, the kid, the main guy and Tiffany Haddish.

Then you had Owen Wilson, Danny Devito, Jared Leto, Jaime Lee Curtis and a cameo by Wynonia Rider.

I saw it on a Disney cruise… slept thru at least 20 minutes. It’s too long.

Being too black isn’t helping. This isn’t a movie I would watch again.
