Wasn't that the plan with Shia Labeouf before Crystal Skull sucked and Shia went nuts?

Completely disagree. I have faith in Mangold. He's on a roll right now.

Haven't seen a lot of what he's directed, but I did really like Identity, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, and Logan. Those were all pretty great.

I hope he won't be using his whip to swing from anything.

( James Mangold has his work cut out for him )

I've gone on record as much as I LOVE Indiana Jones, if they are going to do this, just have him be James Bond. Replace him every so often with a new young actor like Chris Pratt or something.

This just seems like such a no-brainer.

Indy in the 1920s-1940s works.

The archeologist adventurer does not work for me in the 60s on.

Same director as 3:10 to Yuma, Walk the Line, and Logan.

It has two people listed as Screenplay writers:

Jonathan Kasdan (only big credit is Solo)
David Koepp (who's earlier works are great, like Toy Soldiers, Jurassic Park, Carlito's Way, Spider-Man and Mission: Impossible but more recent ones are The Mummy, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Inferno).

The two screenplay writers aren't filling me with a lot of hope here.

I get where you’re coming from, but Chris Pratt is no spry chicken

Completely agree. Indiana Jones works in the first half of the century.

Yeah, 41 isn't young... I mean, comparing it to where Harrison Ford is now (78) and I'm sure he'll seem young.

Though to be fair, Ford was 39 when the first Indiana Jones movie came out.

Highly recommend Ford v Ferrari, if you haven't seen it.

Well, that was 1989.

The fourth Indiana Jones movie was 2008.

If you are wondering why the down votes, the fourth is neither recognized nor does it exist in the M/TV Board world. This is the way.

Set it in southeast Asia with the Viet Cong or Chinese commies as the villains. Maybe one of Lao Che's sons can be the main bad guy.
