finished episode 2 last night. I fricking hate the older brother. I love the show so far though.

Been seeing it on my Netflix intro screen.

Do I need to watch the movie first to understand what's going on, or can they be seen as 2 separate entities?

Not necessarily, but I believe you would enjoy the series even more. Plus, the movie is fantastic and well worth the watch.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I don't believe either have anything to do with the other.

i mean they are both marijuanas plants on large english estates and dealing with the drug gangs.

kind of like we get with other "revision" remakes like Halo, RoP, or WoT.... but good?

I have never seen the movie and had no trouble with the series. After watching the series, I am going to watch the movie.

this series has a very Games of Thrones/Shaphereas scope of Royalty/middle-age history-based fiction

a duke, a king ,princess tribal leaders,, foreign invaders

hopefully its goes a good 7 seasons before zombies or dragons

Great show. Definitely looks to be set up for a Season 2.

Sidenote: Between the series and the movie, Guy Ritchie has a talent for making fairly average looking brown haired Brits come across sexy as frick.

Haven't read the thread to avoid spoilers so maybe it's been mentioned, but is this a continuation in any way of the movie where it helps to have seen the movie first?

I've seen it, but wondering if my wife should watch the movie before watching the show.

Or is this completely different?

The only thing it has in common with the movie is the premise of growing weed under British estates. Literally no characters from the original flick.

I have two episodes left, and I've really enjoyed it. I never saw the movie, but I will watch it this weekend because of how much I enjoyed the series.

my wife only watched because Theo James but bailed after the 3rd episode.

she hated the movie so that makes sense. i've been enjoying it fully.

it took me 4 episodes to realize Miss Glass is the same chick from Crawl, Maze Runner, and the last Pirates.
