I named the regions and put them together exactly how they should be.

The highest voted #1 seed played the lowest ranked #16. 2nd highest #1 played the 2nd lowest #16, and so on with every movie. And branched them out to the regions accordingly to where if things went right the #1 overall seed would play the 2nd highest #1 seed in the finals. You literally could not even it out more than I did. Good lord dude.

Yes I definitely altered it bc I really wanted two of my 3 all time favorite animated movies to play in the 2nd round.

Eh. I dont know. I think that is the weakest region for sure.

General Tso's region is definitely the toughest imo.

As a little kid, you probably didn't realize that Disney had fired a bunch of their animators and that half the movie is recycled clips, literally frame for frame, from The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, Snow White, and other movies with better animators.

I saw Sword in the Stone and Mononoke and the Sword in the Stone heavily influenced my interest in the King Arthur stuff. I saw Mononoke in middle school or high school once and never saw it again. My age and maturity level at the time probably didn't allow me to appreciate it, but that cannot be undone until I see it again (which I have not). Therefore I picked Sword in the Stone.

This is the same reason I picked the sword in the stone. As a kid I wore out the casette we taped off the Disney Channel. I was blown away by the fight between Merlin and Madam Mim. I watched it over and over and over again. And that film opened up a genre for me. I still love fantasy, knights, wizards, and shite.

Princess Mononoke was a beautiful film, and hands down a better work of art, but pretty much all of the time when I'm picking a movie, I don't want the better work of art. I want the film that is most enjoyable for me to watch.

But the Sword in the Stone is probably Disney’s least visually impressive movie at the time save for a few of those in the mid-40s. Just comparing it to the end of Sleeping Beauty (another great job guys by not having that one advance) which was released 4 years before, it’s just on another level: YouTube

You're missing the point of his post.

SatS was a movie he watched over and over, he loved it as a kid. It impacted him to this day with his love of knights, wizards, etc.

Thats a legitimate reason to vote for a movie.

PM was a movie he watched once in middle school and didn't think much of it afterwards.

So you have a movie that affected his taste in movies vs one that was forgettable. The fact that PM was visually stunning did not play a factor in his voting nor should it have given the time frame that he watched them. Not many kids choose to like a movie bc of it being visually stunning. Nobody would argue that, but that's not what his vote was based on.

I can easily see PM being forgettable to a middle schooler. That's an interesting time frame for what type of movies a kid likes. You're moving away from maybe only liking kids movies to adding in action, scary movies, regular comedies and others. It's not really an age where someone is really loving foreign critically acclaimed movies, especially if you're not into anime. Maybe if he watched it for the first time when he was older he might have a different opinion. But for now, he has a pretty good reason for voting SatS.

Which could be expected but it also had a Duke cakewalk to the Final Four.

Didn't face any other sentimental favorites.

I felt the same way during the first round of voting. But seeing all the votes for Shrek over The Incredibles has me a bit anxious.

I have no fricking idea why people can't figure out how you seeded this thing still. It's pretty simple and formulaic.

- Everyone was ranked 1-64
- 1 played 64 etc
- Highest votes got highest seed
- imdb score tiebreaker

It's not a hard concept.

Eh, ultimately it doesn't matter. These didn't hit me as hard as the first round ones though. A couple were tough though.
