That makes perfect sense and all, but it'd also keep Dany as a sympathetic figure. We could all understand why she would nuke the city after that. The whole idea of her going mad was that she was being ruthless and irrational when she had a chance to be compassionate.

Yea, that solution (upvoted like 50k times) doesn't solve anything. In fact it makes Dany almost reasonable and they need to murder her in the very next episode so it doesn't work.

Yep. If it plays out like that then we have the same Dany from season 1. Also sane people can’t comprehend the insane and when the insane finally break its many times a quick change

Nope, this is GOT so you the audience doesn't need to have a clear villain to root against; better to have viewers split into Team Dany and Team Jon/Tyrion going into the last episode. Jon/Tyrion would not forgive the scorching of Kings Landing.

Disagree with that idea. The point isn’t to make her to be honestly seeking revenge. The point of Dany burning the city at that point is to show that her feelings weren’t honest. She didn’t want to peacefully capture the city at that point. She wanted to make them burn. It wasn’t enough just to kill Cersei. She had to kill everyone that Cersei was trying to protect. When Cersei made a move to be a just ruler, Dany had to invalidate it and make it futile
