If you're going to talk about episode 4, you kind of have to argue about episode 3.

Right now.

Go ahead

Cersei wins. But it’s a hollow victory as she loses everything else and realizes keeping the throne was not worth the cost.

Here's the thing about the Knights of the Vale:

There was an interview with GRRM before season 6 started it was some Q&A session where he was taking basic questions from fans. Some fat nerd stood up and asked him who had the largest and best Army in Westeros. He said the largest "wasn't important" but the best trained soldiers by far were the Knights of the Vale and he estimated their size at around 18,000 because they had saw no action at that point. He also said they will play an important part in the rest of the TV series. Yes, they saved Jon at BotB but it seemed as if GRRM was talking past that. Just food for thought. Could be nothing. Plus, we haven't seen Lord Robin Arryn yet. What a story it would be if we see him ride over with the rest of the Knights of the Vale ready for battle at King's Landing.

Anyway. We need to assume the force of Daenerys force. Majority of the Dothraki and Unsullied are gone. As is the leftovers of the Northern forces.

I was thinking about this as well and then it hit me...Daario! Dario and the 2nd sons were left in Mereen to keep the peace and Yara and her ships went back to the Iron Islands to because the dead can't swim. Odds are both will be joining Dany for battling Cersei.

Ends in a tie?

Cersei dies

If she does, how?

Most people think its a done deal she dies, but the better question is how.

Call it fan service or whatever, but this feels incredibly appropriate for both of those character’s arcs. The Mountain literally created the “monster” element of the Hound by what he did to him. And Jaime’s redemption arc has pointed towards him ending Ceresi for awhile now.

Then why do they get the appropriate ending and Jon doesn’t? He was fricking neutered in the most important battle ever, and he’s the most important character in the whole series.

Jon has done ok for himself.

Killed a white
Became King of the North
Is a decent leader
fricked up Ramsey.

He kids work with his dragon and did everything he could to get to the NK

I wanted It to be Jon but not every cool character can kill the NK.

Although I feel like a fight between him and the NK where Arya jumps in like the fight st the tower of joy would have been cool. It’s hard to imagine the NK is letting Jon get close to him with that sword

Prior to the last episode, I would have guessed these parties would help. But at this point, it seems they are adamant about only focusing on the few characters that are left.

Which makes sense from a development standpoint but not a battle standpoint.

The biggest rifts I see are there are 3 types of fanbases (aside from the pure bookreaders).

Type A : fans of the original 4 seasons who liked the gritty realism and well crafted plots (may or may not be book readers). I know plenty of people who never read the books but fall into this category.

Type B: fans who got into it post season 4 (roughly) who are heavily into the hype train. They want a show that is more Cinematic and Hollywood in its plots and characters.

Type C: fans who are actually like both of the aforementioned types of writing. They dont mind realism but at the same time like the entertainment value of Hollywood tropes.

The idea of expectations/reputations seldom meeting reality is a common theme in the show. Ned never beat Arther Dayne in single combat, "they never sing songs about how they shite themselves...", Jamie was more of a savior than a traitor in dealing with the Mad Kind, etc. If you expected the Jon to be a chosen-one style savior in this battle, you haven't been paying attention.

There will be a battle at King's Landing and there is no way Jon Snow can show up with a rag tag army and 2 dragons and expect to compete. There has to be even modest help from somewhere. I suspect it will be Daario but even then he has what 5,000 men? The Dragons make things more interesting but Cersei is prepared for them it won't be a surprise. Unless, someone turns on Cersei and takes a bulk of her forces away to dwindle the numbers down?

This is true. But it should apply to all characters like in previous seasons. For example, Arya shouldn't kill Cersei. It should be Jaime. Its expected, but it would be the best conclusion to the Lannisters storyline.
It would also subvert expectations because Arya has wanted to kill Cersei for a longer time and is skilled enough to do it.

Jon should be at least next to her. Not to mention everyone that knows Jon is the true heir to the Iron Throne is still alive should be stepping up.

I understand it was her army that was sacrificed but it should be Jon motivating everyone to go south.

Even with 2 dragons im sure the show will find a way to make them even more useless in the final conflict.
