Oberyn says hello. He did that with essentially an 8' 4x4

I would also like to know how the conversation in the cave ended with Jon and Dany.

I thought they were holding hands when they first came out of the cave. They weren't, but it looked like it at first. Arms were close together.

The question is, how far south do the White Walkers ravage before being defeated? Do they make it to Kings Landing? I hope the first couple episodes of the next season show the Night King just gang raping the Westerosi countryside until they find out how to beat him

quote:Also, a couple of Arya's "wins" against Brienne were harmless fencing touches, like when she slaps Brienne's breastplate with her sword. In a real fight, that would have been useless.
he trained with one of the best swordsman out there, and this also isn't a revalation as we saw her win a fight in the dark with a chick who seemed to be pretty solid as well with a sword.
I think not only that, but Brienne shortened the gap considerably after she started to take Arya more seriously. It wasn't like Arya worked her over the whole time. Big bitch had had enough with that kick to Arya's chest that sent her flying.
The last one, when she had the dagger and she and Brienne's faces were right next to each other, was clear lesbian pornography.
I still think Arya is foolish for displaying her skills, and the way Maisie is playing her now is just off-putting. She's got the crazy eyes, like in the crypt with Sansa and when she jumps back up to her feet against Brienne - and it's almost comical.

I love that part when Jaime, Bronn, and Dickon are talking and Dickon talks about the smell of men dying. Bring goes "Men shut themselves when they die. Didn't they teach ya that at fancy school?" Then Jaime looks at him like "Wtf dude" and he goes "What? I learned that when I was five."
Jaime just shakes his head and almost laughs.

So... in the aftermath, where are the pieces now?
Dothraki are on the mainland, near King's Landing. We see Dany and Jon back at Dragonstone, so that means Tyrion most likely in charge of the King's Landing siege/blockade.
Tyrion isn't all in on the White Walkers, and they're new info to him anyway. So his siege will be a long, "starve them out" manner, with little further massacre of forces. At least that's his intention at this time.
We have Jaime and Bronn right at hand. Jaime now has proof Tyrion didn't kill Joffrey, and Bronn is there to facilitate the reconcile. Seems like too big an opportunity for the producers to avoid, especially since Tyrion watched Jaime try to nobly charge a dragon. (I mean, sure, he was also about to stab Dany in the back, but like Tyrion was saying, "flee, you fool". He was sure he was about to see Jaime's death). BTW, Tyrion watched that happen, so he knows it was Jaime, and he is in the water. Will be interesting to see if he relays that.
Dany and Jon at Dragonstone- no reason other than Jon, for her to go back there now. Her forces are deployed. She doesn't strike me as "call me when it's over", so there's something more to do. I think a trip north via dragonflight is in line, really nothing else I can think of.
That might leave Davos and Missandi alone on the island...
Stark kids aligning against Littlefinger in Winterfell, serious bad blood there. Royce won't mind, but he needs a valid answer to give to Robin. Afterall, LF's the adopted father now. Maybe Sansa tells Royce what happened at the Moon Door, and leaves it to his discretion as to how much to share with Robin about it all. Tossing mama should be enough to seal the deal, but you somehow have to reconcile mama being nuts/wanting to toss mama. Alternatively, Arya deals with Robin... but that isn't the nice thing to do. Somehow, you have to deal with LF but not lose their forces.

When she asked Jon what she should do, I looked at my Mrs and said that if it were me I would tell her put off King's Landing for a bit and help me with the real enemy in the North. After that's handled then we both go down and kick Cersei in the snatch.
I also would have used the Dothraki as a distraction when I brought my dragon in from the flank. That fire breath could have taken at least half of the entire front line in the first pass if she had been flying along their line instead of straight at them.
It did make for a great "oh shite!" moment though

The shot of Dany with Messendei looking at each other when Jon approaches, and then Davos talking to Jon, followed by the "King John - King Snow" and "we're all progressive and have no marriage where I come from" is what I thought was really goofy last night.
As well as, of course, Arya's Jon Snow haircut and her lesbian duel with Brienne and her Beavis haircut.

I think that attack was just as much about sending a message as it was about winning a battle. I'm fairly sure she knew she would win that one, but she wanted to make sure that every single survivor would relay the story of the absolute pants shitting terror they felt when the Dothraki charged them and that dragon dropped out of the clouds.

I'd take Barristan, Jaime, and the Hound over the Mountain (in their full forms). The Mountain isn't really all that skilled of a swordsman, he just wears incredibly armor that makes him nearly invincible. This also makes him incredibly slow. If you're skilled enough with a blade as Oberyn was, you can get through the small cracks in the armor. 9 times out of 10 (unless the Hound somehow becomes terrified of his brother) I'd take those 3 over the Mountain.

This all goes back to season 1 when Syrio tells Arya that she's not learning the hacking and hammering of the Westerosi knight dance. She's learning the water dance. She's light on her feet and turning her body to make a smaller target. She's holding her sword the Braavosi way.
We watched a similar scene play out between Syrio, a very small unarmored man, against a fully armored Meryn Trant and the other knights. Sryio immediately takes down the other soldiers and probably beats Trant if he's holding an actual sword. Both scenes were to show us that water dancing can be equally as effective as the Westerosi way, and likely a better choice for someone smaller and physically weaker. We also have those scenes with The Hound where he gives her tips to kill through/around armor.
She's really the deadliest person in Westeros. She'll be constantly underestimated because she's a girl and she's small. We're just seeing that she's as deadly with a sword as she is with her faces.
She didn't go through all of this training, plus end up with a Valerian steel dagger just to kill the people on her list of names. IMO she's going to play a huge part in the fight against the Night King and his army.
On another Arya note, I watched Secrets of the Citadel's episode 4 video and she brought up Arya's comment in the crypts that the statue didn't look like Ned's face as possible foreshadowing of Arya using his face to kill (most likely) Littlefinger. I thought that was interesting after reading theories here that she might use Cat's face.
She also pointed out the difference in Bran's reunions with Arya and Sansa. His reunion with Sansa was very cold and indifferent as opposed to Arya's. Obviously he was weird TER with both but he actually hugged Arya back. It was something I hadn't considered and wonder if he's seen something about Sansa that we don't know yet.

I kinda wish Jaime had his sword hand for that battle last night. I wish we could once see the legend that was Jaime Lannister in true combat.

Which brings the next topic- the Unsullied are now, basically, freed up, right? I mean, other than low provisions, there's no real danger now. Ain't nobody new going to raise arms against a dragon rider and her Dothraki horde if she promises to keep them from pillaging, and the lone organized army in opposition- the Lannisters, have been routed. So there's little to oppose the Unsullied, either. They're out of place for now, but can simply move to join up with the Dothraki's.
This is, of course, going on the assumption that Dany only burned a relatively small portion of the food for effect, and didn't actually leave most of the continent foodless.
She will allow Tyrell bannermen to rejoin her side (possibly Lannisters too), send word that future crop gatherings be sent her way, and to not oppose the Unsullied.
For that matter, I wonder if the food destroyed was the Lannister's provisions from Casterly Rock, it was said they had already loaded and took that. You'd think it would take a lot longer to organize and funnel the Reach's foodstuff their way. They just went in and took over operations, and that didn't last long at all. We just saw new management take over again.

Last night was the first time in a long time I jumped up from the couch worried for a character in this show. I was convinced Bronn was gonna die. I feel you
I thought so at first, but once he was aiming the second shot I thought for sure Drogon would die which would cause Dany to go full on crazy mode use the other 2 dragons to absolutely wreck and burn shite.
Should have happened. Whoever wrote that episode so no GRRM, that's for damn sure.
