No, they were clearly talking about Euron. They reference the "new villain" being worse than Ramsey.

Not enough time for the audience to get emotionally invested in Eiron.

All you book readers can continue to hold onto this when stuff happens you don't like but it's FAR more likely that all of this is from an outline that GRRM gave HBO to follow.

just joining discussion but didn't pick up on where that was Jamie and Co. were attacked. Last I remember they were at Highgarden were they returning to KL? Where was that?

They had raided Highgarden for gold (for the Iron Bank), and food for the troops.
Early scene showed them leaving Highgarden, when Jaime gave Bronn the gold, and told them to rustle up more food.
At that point in time, Dany is on Dragonstone, and states that they still have enough ships to bring the Dothraki to the mainland (so the Dothraki are still there, too).

Battle scene, early on, Tarly tells Jaime the gold is safely inside the gates (of King's Landing I presume). Does mention stragglers, outside of the distance needed to respond to an ambush (a battle).
So, close to King's Landing (parts are already at the gates), but spread out over a big area.
Dothraki are on the mainland, assembled.

Both of these support a passage of time required- to move and reassmble the Horde, and to travel from the Reach to KL. Within reasonable distance to the coast, that the Dothraki stumble upon them (clearly aided by Dany doing sky cover, and scouts), close enough to KL that the Lannisters don't fear a reprisal from anyone loyal to the Tyrells.
Dany wouldn't be marching the Dothraki on Highgarden, I don't think. She's preparing to close in on KL.

You don't need to have as much time to get invested in an evil character though. Ramsay only played in 20 episodes in seasons 3-6, and it didn't take that long to get the idea of his depravity.

My favorite (and, obviously, one of the most controversial) scenes from the episode:

I have to wonder it Brienne figured out/knows what "no one" actually signifies. She is from Tarth, which is an island house, which would likely have a lot of traders from Essos/Braavos such that she may have heard of the Faceless Men.

Did anyone catch Jon saying something like 10000 soldiers or less?

Davos responds "fewer."

I remember it. But I admit, the importance or humor in it escapes me......

How they did the battle scene.

Pretty impressive. Was surprised to learn they actually set people (stuntmen) on fire.

I think there have to be several more die offs, including good characters before we get to the last season. These ppl need to die A) because I hate them or B) their stories have run their course and we need to tighten things up a bit. The remaining main characters should be House Stark vs House Lannister vs Danny and the Dragons vs Night King.

Bronn-I love him but it's time
LF-should happen this season, it's time
Tarlys Dickon and Randyll should be offed by end of the season
Jorah-tired of his lovesick arse
The Greyjoys should bite the dust by the end of the season.

Although, I believe Euron will kill a beloved character at some point. I don't know who that will be but we don't hate him enough currently, he needs to do something worse than kill Sandsnakes (which I loved) and kidnap Yara. I think he kills a main character before he himself gets killed.

Theon won't die. He will have to live with all the horrible things he has done.

If they were gonna kill Bronn, last night was the perfect opportunity. I don't think he dies either.

The talk in the caves is being neglected too much.

As I mentioned before, last week Dany bristles at the very mention of Jon as "King" in the North, she rejects that title and demand he bend the knee. The idea of "King in the North" is rebellion against the Throne, in her mind. There's only one King.

This week, she offers to fight for Jon, if he bends the knee, and he says the North will reject Southern rulers. She then says the the North will follow their King. She never says "King in the North", she says "their King".

We are getting in range in the WW fight. All those people save LF could have major roles to play in that battle.

Ehh, tarth is a looong way from Braavos. It's just off the coast of the storm lands south of kings landing. Braavos is at the northernmost tip of essos. Not impossible, but I think it's a stretch to say she knew what Arya meant

Honestly it's BS that Bronn or Drogon didn't die. It just doesn't feel right without an important character dying. I feel robbed.

Fewer is grammatically correct, which is funny because Davos recently learned how to read

I'm pretty sure that was implied and there really isn't anything more to that specific statement. But they do seem to be warming up to each other and she did leave Dario back in Essos specifically to marry herself off for alliance purposes. It's down to either Jon Snow or a Sweet Robin so...

I was thinking this was going to be more about the cave paintings Jon made.

but then that would mean when ja'qen hagar parted ways with arya and her group when he changed faces...he had a dead persons face on him.

i'm just really unclear on the rules of the faceless men...walder freys face wasn't in the temple in braavos and she took his face...did she literally take his face because then that would mean the faceless men travel around with dead people's faces on their person...also it would decay and rot.

I just assumed they could take the face of anyone who is deceased.
