GoT S7 E4 "The Spoils of War" MAESTERS Thread by Porter Osborne Jr
What was Bran's response to chaos? I couldn't make it out. Tia.

Horrible episode. The feel of most of it was like a MASH episode.
New Arya is too grim and jaded. Yes, I get why, but Maisie is just not playing it well.
The battle was nice, but candy at the end of a shitty meal. The dragon torching the army makes sense, but unarmored men would get slaughtered by armored men. "Your people can't fight." Jorah easily beat their best people because he had armor, but I guess mighty brown people will always prevail against whitey no matter what.
Looks like Jaime's getting captured again.
Dude. Wtf

Dude you have got to try a little harder to bait. Put a little effort into it

I don't know.
After hearing about now terrible her father was, Dany seems a little more understanding.
Plus, Jamie finding out that it WASN'T Tyrion who killed Joffrey seems too important for that not to be a factor, especially given the current situation.
I mean, to be honest Robert should have given Jaime the Black from the very start, and we would have avoided a ton of this shite. No Twincest, Jaime would be elected Lord Commander after Mormont probably (if not would have certainly been First Ranger), the Wall would have been far more financially supported from the Lannisters and Iron Throne, and the Night's Watch would be in far better shape.
If I were Dany that would be my offer to him to take the Black or die, especially after everything Jon Snow said. Jaime would be a far greater asset to the North than he would be to Dany. Bronn can just bend the knee, but Jaime still needs to be held somewhat accountable.

The Dorthraki vastly outnumbered the Lannisters (army was spread thin) who were taken by surprise. Plus I don't know if you noticed but half the Lannister army was getting toasted by a dragon. Air support goes a long way.

Do you understand how much havoc cavalry caused armies back then? No, you don't.
And to your Jorah allusion, he fought one Dothraki in single combat, he didn't lead an army against a horde of Dothraki screamers.

I kind of agree. I'm sure they have something else planned for him but I was hoping he was going to get toasted

why even use the dothraki at all...
because - like dragons - they were a thing of myth and legend that most had never even seen. She just made them real. VERY real.

It was Bronn. They emphasized him looking at the horse.
Yeah but that made me think he was about to take a strategic retreat. Bron looks out for Bron when shite hits the fan.

You guys think Dany could've kept the Dothraki out of that battle, in the open field? That is what they live for, that is their life. What I can't believe is how Dany can keep them from raping and pillaging the countryside.
While I loved that battle scene a lot, I agree with the person that said it's hard to believe that the Dothraki, who are unarmored, and are using arakhs. It's not like every Dothraki would be able to get neck shots on ever knight they came up against.
ETA: Now the bow and arrows the Dothraki were shooting would've reeked havoc on the Lannister infantry.

Did Randyll Tarly get roasted?

Had to get out of the thread because I was apparently a couple minutes behind.
Holy shite.
Need to rewatch to process the first part, but the battle was absolutely epic.
1. Just trying to put myself in Lannister shoes. Just won a huge momentum swing battle, relaxed, heading back to KL. Then a Dothraki Horde and a MF DRAGON come crashing down on you.
2.Seeing the Dothraki in battle was incredible with their movements on horses. They killed it.
3. Literally laughed out loud when Bronn laughed at Dickon saying his name.
4. I bet Jaimie remembers Dickon's name now that he saved his arse.
5. Knew (hoped) Bronn and Jaimie weren't going to die, but they did a hell of a job making it stressful.
6. Confused how Jaimie will be getting out of this. He gunna let the armor take him to the bottom and walk out the other side? Theres a fricking dragon right there.
Phenomenal episode.
