I have a question about Melisandre. If it's too spoilerish and we haven't got there yet don't answer; why has she only birthed one of those shadow demon things?

In the books to this point she has done it twice.
The 2nd time was, I believe at Storm's End, to get control of one of Robert's bastards, Edric Storm. In the show they folded his character into Gendry, where she went and captured him. Davos freed him(Edric in the book/Gendry in the show)

There are many Brandon Starks, and it is the most traditional Stark name. The original Stark was Bran the Builder and was legendary, as was Lann the Clever who founded House Lannister (hence the Lann in their name). The one we're talking about lived probably close to 8000 years before the events of the story.

This and similar posts are the reason I love this thread and thank the contributors. I love hearing the history but without, of course, spoiling the dynamics the show offers.

Ok my read on melisandrea is that she predicted deaths: renly, robb and greyjoy

We got two. Aka renly got vagina of death baby and rob got ghostbaby of death.

I never got Greyjoy, he seems so unimportant in the grand scheme at least as far as Stannis is concerned.

During the Greyjoy rebellion, the Iron born caught Tywin sleeping and routed his forces at Lannisport. It was Stannis that came to the realm's rescue, he crushed the Iron Born fleet, opening the way for royal forces.
While Robert, Ned, Jorah Mormont took the main island, Barristan Selmy led the attack on a smaller island, and Stannis took the Great Wyk.

This war is the one the led to Theon being a ward of the Starks.

All of this talk about House Baratheon, got me wondering who is in charge at Storm's End, at this point? Renly & Robert are dead and Stannis is at Dragonstone.

I have no idea who's in charge of SE at this point, since Robert and Renly are dead and Stannis is labeled as a traitor by the crown. Perhaps another stormlord??

You would think if she had that ability she'd do it as often as possible. She seems like she's full of shite the majority of the time, but that demon thing was definitely real

This was brought up in the Hodor thread.

I don't think Stannis can get it up much anymore.

In the books, it takes some of Stannis' life force to create these vagi-demons. That's why Melissandre hasn't just oozed out a tribe of them then sent them out to kill all opposition.

Finally looked it up, House Farring from the crownlands. Guess he didn't trust any of the stormlords after they sided with Renly.

One of Melisandre's shadow assassins murdered Courtney Pentose who was left in charge of Storm's End by Renly.

The castle was surrendered to Stannis's forces. Stannis names Ser Gilbert Farring as the new castellan.

Eta: my bad. Wrong thread
