Especially if you have younglings who didn't see it yet.
Personally, I'm torn. Never a big fan of the prequels, but much prefer them to what's come in more recent times.
So, go see better ( but not great) Star Wars and give Disney more money, OR.. wash your hands entirely of anything post RotJ or possibly Rogue One and be done with it.
I do find it funny that RotS is doing gangbusters on the re-release, which has to be a twisting of the knife in Kathleen's side.
And if you're tired of this debate, just go see a pretty good vampire movie - Sinners. One of the most incredible 2nd week numbers in decades. 6% drop is super rare.

The prequels all suck including this one. I’m good

Sinners feels like it will be a mini Top Gun maverick. It will hang around for weeks as word of mouth gets out.
I was at the theater this weekend and the place was abuzz like I haven't seen probably since Barbenheimer, and it was 80% because of people going to watch Sinners.
Not a fan of vampire horror films at all, and not a fan of MBJ because, well, he can't act, but the film Definatly has the right buzz right now.

Sinners apparently does enough things well that it strikes a good balance. From the sounds of it and the reaction, it's just a solid movie, which was done really well. I added it to the conversation because I don't recall hearing such a low 2nd week drop since.. Return of the Jedi ? Or maybe Star Wars proper.

I saw ROTS three times in its original run in theaters. I probably rewatch it more frequently than any other Star Wars movie because it's such a silly "so bad it's good" action movie. I'mma pass on paying money to see it again in the theater when there's actually some decent stuff out right now.

I saw it in the theater 20 years ago. It sucked then and it sucks now. I don't understand this new trend of people pretending it's good

So to be clear, you don't like the prequels, but because a youtuber is telling you to go see it to "stick it to Disney", you're going to spend money to see a 20 year old movie?
That's the definition of simp behavior baw.

Relative to what the 1 and 2 were...
I never felt anything for the *prequels as I did for the original trilogy. Not even a little.

Great display of your 2nd grade reading comprehension, but "to be clear", I said no such thing. All I did was post 2 opposing views, with the caveat that I never liked the prequels from the start, baw.
And 'sticking it to Disney' wouldn't be giving them MORE money by going to see it. All I said was, if you liked it and now had young ones who haven't seen it, in a theater, knock yourself out.

Exactly to whom am I simping? Disney? Nope. Geeks & Gamers? Oh, because I posted their video? Which simply gave both sides of the argument. All I did was suggest go see it, or don't, and that maybe Sinners could be a alternative.
Which last I checked, wasn't a Disney movie.

I enjoyed it and saw it again the other day in theaters, was fun and makes me appreciate the prequels much more than the soulless sequels.

You could eat an apple but instead you eat cat shite to try to shame dog shite about how bad it tastes.

i loved it in the theaters, saw it three times that summer. started to hate it later on as i rewatched it more times over the years. but it's sort of come back to be a guilty pleasure for me. it has huge, glaring problems for sure, but i think it's fun.

Nostalgia. Just wait ten more years and they'll be doing the same thing for the sequel trilogy.

Well, it has a major flaw or two but there are good points as well.
* Unlike I and II, it's on more familiar ground. We have Vader, the Emperor, and Yoda. We know these guys. We know what they are about.
* Christopher Lee is stellar as always. Criminal how little they used him in II.
* It's a more familiar universe and the plot isn't as convoluted as it was in I and especially II.
* Kenobi and Mace are played well. Jackson does a great job of showing the Jedi arrogance.
* It tells the story we waited for for over 20 years: How was Vader created.
* Light saber fights were probably best of the whole series.
Flaws:
* Christensen can't act. His acting was wooden as hell. Came off like a petulant two year old the whole movie. Looked like a model trying to act. I get the whole golden boy thing but damn, get someone who can act.
* Should have explained how the Emperor created the Trade Federation and Clone Wars so he could spread out the Jedi and pick them off one by one.
* Should have shown Yoda realizing the Sith had adapted and changed while the Jedi fossilized. Hence why he had to flee.
* SHould have shown Vader at his worst. Should have shown him killing the younglings and shocking the other Jedi when he shows up to kill them. For some reason, Lucas always spared us seeing Vader at his worst such as when he killed the Sand People. Should have shown that to show Skywalker's savagery when he lost his temper but Lucas watered It down.
Rogue One solved that problem and showed him as a butcher.
