Germans must be clinically insane to hold up first 3 fingers to signal the number 3

If you've watched Inglorious Bastards you will know what I am talking about.
Your ring finger doesn't have its own tendon, it is attached to your middle finger. This makes it difficult to hold up just a middle finger without holding your ring finger down. To hold up the first 3 fingers and leave your ring finger in no man's land is like people who don't move their arms when walking. Just awkward, clunky, and unnatural.
Americans do it the right way. You lift your middle and ring together with the pointer, and hold down pinky with thumb. It's the right way, and after reading Reddit German thinking they do it right, in addition to I am permanently banned on Reddit for speaking my mind so I can not respond to their gross inaccuracy, I need to come on here to signify what is the correct way to do this.

I just did it both ways for a while. I find the German way much easier. It's easier simply keeping my ring finger down than it is to hold my pinky finger down with my thumb.
My three year old finds it easiest to do the ok signal to make 3. So, maybe that's the easiest.

I’m buzzed and relating to the highness of this post. After carefully trying each way to display “ 3”. I feel the German way is easiest. The OK sign being next. The 2,3,4 being hardest.

Okay I’ll play.
I’ve been first 3 my entire life.
I’m not just realizing, just now, that ring down is easier.
You have changed my life.

I’m not saying you’re wrong about this. I have no clue.

But you are completely wrong about this.

When I count to 10, 6 is always my left thumb.

The anatomical problem arises when you try to put your ring finger up with your middle finger down.

I don’t know why, but this had me lol-ing so much. Bravo!

Mine varies by hand. I can do the German 3 easy with my left hand but I can’t with my right. I can do the American 3 easier with my right hand than with my left.
The ok sign 3 is by far the easiest for both.

Just did a quick experiment.
Same result.

Thumb is only 5 or 10. Nothing else is correct.

"ok" is the easiest for damn sure

Lifetime of not doing it the German way. Therefore German way feels like a tendon strain and awkward.
