Have watched the first three a number of times.

Have never had an ounce of interest in watching 8.

To be fair, I didn't watch the entire movie. Just the last 5 or 10 minutes... while I was waiting for Ocean's 11 to start. Just caught the tail end of it.

Obviously they'd have to bring Andy Garcia back as well, right? Vincent Cassel as well, and given how they've played out previous movies, this time he'd be part of their group.

Only about 10 people watched it so I think they can just gloss over it.

I watched it and enjoyed it for what it was. when she visits the tomb, she mutters "you better be in there". not concrete proof he died outside of the name in the stone

So in other words, he's still alive.

I could never get over how bad Don Cheadle’s accent was especially in the first one

Oceans 11 is one of my top 10 favorite films ever, and I also enjoy 12 and 13, so I’m 1000% on board with this idea.

Sadly they won’t be able to get all of the original cast together, but that presents an opportunity to add some new fits so long as their chemistry is on par with the rest.

Maybe I need to rewatch 12. Didn’t care for it. But loved the other two almost equally.

The Julia Roberts scene is really stupid, but I do love the rest of the film.

Yeah. The should've just had the shadow of a man come into the mausoleum when she's at his tomb at the end. Just leave the option open of him actually being alive so they don't have to have some stupid explanation.

Or just pretend like that film doesn’t exist since nobody saw it anyway

and Soderbergh is directing then....

This is key. Though I think a Guy Ritchie could pull it off. But what made those movies so great was not just the chemistry of the most charismatic movie stars in the world at the time, but the chemistry they all had with Soderbergh. They were all so cool and just captured some sort of amazing aughts magic with a 60s nostalgia. It still plays in the mid 2020s unless the script is just shite. Which I don’t think it would be with the way Clooney is talking about it. He’s very selective and conscious of his legacy. He’s had some misses, but they weren’t due to him just collecting a pay check.

Which is why Oceans 8 sucked. I didn't think the script was bad, or the heist. It was a pretty good idea. But the cast just didn't have that chemistry from top to bottom.

To me, oceans 11 and the first pirates of the Caribbean are the two movies that perfectly nail what light-hearted entertainment should be.
