If it's not, don't guide us based on your knowledge of the books..let us figure shite out on our own. That's half the fun of watching shite like this anyway.

you hear that people? You just don't know how to watch TV correctly.
un-fricking-believable
that's not what im saying at all. seriously, this is a show where if you miss one line, you can miss something huge. all i was suggesting was that people should eliminate as many distractions as possible so as not to miss a good piece of information.
not telling yall how to watch tv, just suggesting something that could help clear up small things so that fewer questions would be asked which would make the book guys not comment as often.

So it's Monday afternoon and we're to the point where book readers bombard the thread to show off their knowledge of the story and non-readers complain about spoilers.
Seems like the GOT thread pattern is still holding true.

i guess that would depend on the comment prior to saying that. if the character was dead or the show lead you to believe something about them but the OH YOU JUST WAIT clued you in that it wasn't like you were lead to believe then i would call it a spoiler.
I don't disagree with that.
My only point is why say anything at all then? A reader clearly knows that the character isn't done, but the watcher doesn't. So why even comment at all based on your book knowledge..? (and I'm more asking as general discussion than your specific example

Oh, I'm definitely an a-hole. I would never try to tell you otherwise.

that a-hole lured me into it with his rapid fire basic questions

I watched the whole episode last night with subtitles.
I do the same when watching an episode for the first time... You pick up a lot more shite.

Pretty sure she said war, since Ned went off to war and fricked Sloot Snow and brought Jon home.
Yeah I know all that. But if she said wall IMO it could lead the watcher to believe something about something. Kinda open a can of worms. My head was spinning. Not gonna say a single thing but it really had me thinking. And if she said war it's irrelevant anyway.

no i understand i had posted earlier "i wish people paid attention like you" higher on this page as proof that i wasnt calling you out.
When I saw it I was like "This motherfricker just told everyone that they don't watch correctly and need to pay more attention...frick this a-hole." That's where the a-hole part came in.

I know Chicken and Circus have toyed with the idea of making threads where only certain people have access to post in them (though all can read them). Not sure if it ever panned out though, but it seems like it could be fitting for GoT. Unfortunately, it kinda fricks over the unassholish readers who are actually capable of posting in here without saying shite.

This thread cracks me up. Half of the things y'all call "spoilers" have been covered in the show. The problem is y'all try to add 40 posts to your count in the hour the show is on. If most here actually paid attention to the material then there would be much less confusion.
Hell the reader thread is practically dead during the show and we know what's going on
Posted on 4/8/13 at 12:14 pm to manwich
There has been vigorous discussion, but no massive spoiler postings. A compromise thread has been created which may help alleviate the problem in the future, though it can never be fully solved.

I am on the flip side in kballa's Lost thread. Since I've seen the show already, I have to be uber careful about how to answer his questions or comment in the thread. And a couple of other people have kinda guided him with their answers, which is bad IMO.

Maybe y'all just need to stay out of the no spoiler threads. I know the book reading omniscience makes you feel like you're Jesus or something, but it just starts too much shite between people.
Like the Prime Directive in Star Trek, if you've interfered in any way with the natural development of our Game of Thrones enjoyment, you should be banned.

Maybe you should read the thread without other distractions. If you were able to focus on the thread and its questions/comments alone, then you wouldn't trip yourself into saying book shite.

i hardly comment in them. i read just because i like to see peoples' thoughts and i get to vicariously see the story unfold for the first time again.

bullshite, go back and look and page 14, it's 90% book readers. And the majority of post from then on have been from book readers.
And I don't think making a comment on something is making a big deal about it. This thread turns out the same every week.
