Truth is, I always figured KL would get destroyed, I just figured from early on it would be the White Walkers and a combined army would save the day.
Looking back and thinking about it, the clues were there. Burning the Tarlys last year and showing the reactions of her advisors was the tipoff.
There is one solution that she won't accept. Something the Romans used to do. She could adopt Jon and name him her son, then announce the truth. Brings him in fold, keeps her respect, and then settles the whole claim to the throne thing.

I doubt he's able to read it like a book, but he can catch glimpses of it at least. He saw Dany flying over KL here and here.
Back in the 3rd season, Jojen implicitly confirmed that those with "the sight," like he and Bran, can see things in the future.
Don't know what the books have to say.

I'm a bit disappointed that Winter never came to KL

May as well have, let's save humanity and give our lives so this teenage idiot can use her dragon to destroy it.
When drogon is taken from her, they're going to have a hell of a time rehabilitating him for a new forever home.

I think They’ve rushed a lot but this isn’t that rushed. They worked on this pretty much all episode and You sorta saw the possibility for this with Dany all along

Dany has to be well into her 20's at least, approaching 30. Remember we're following them literally years.
And the threat of Dany is not the same level as the Night King. She's had a brutal, mildly genocidal sack of King's Landing, but I figure well over 50% of the population survived. She may kill more off, especially if she continues to rule, but there will also be a birthrate.
In other words, she's terrible, but well within historical context.
Night King was an extinction level event. Zero survival rate, with the vast majority of his victims now becoming part of his army.
In fact, we might have clamored to see him take King's Landing instead of hitting Winterfell first, but that scenario ends with an overall defeat. Assuming the 1 million figure they toss around, and assuming 90%+ can walk once reanimated (young children were part of his army and old folk would be as effective as any other corpse), that big of an upgrade to his forces would be unstoppable. It already was for a practical purpose against Winterfell, but you're talking more than double, plus whatever lay in the route down to KL.
But you can still kill the Night King... sure you can, but you need a way to get to him. If he ignored Bran and Winterfell in favor of KL, odds are the ambush trap isn't effective later. It would mean he's patient enough to stand back and wait for his armies to do the work, and he wouldn't expose himself needlessly. Afterall, Bran's a dude in a wheelchair, he won't be outrunning anyone.

Shes not approaching her fricking 30s. She was 16 at the most when she was given to Drogo, and about 6 or 7 years has passed.

Show Dany is older than book Dany, and either way she's not a teen anymore.
And she's ruled a city and the Dothraki already, and is the same age as Jon. So she's not just some modern teen chick, people did things younger in this setting. Davos might be in his 50's or so, "old" by those standards but a good 20 years younger than a lot of our national politicians.
And either way, the point remains that that a tyrant is still far preferable to extinction. You recover from tyrants and madmen. Might take a generation or so afterwards, but you recover. The Night King turns the world into Antarctica, there's no coming back for that. No little people to worry about.

Book Dany was 13 when she was with Drogo, and she just proved she is immature and unfit to lead no matter everything she has done, it was all bullshite.
Shes just another insecure girl that needs admiration.

I'm convinced that people who still like this season are NPCs.

I have a question but don’t want to start a new thread. I went down an Alt shift X rabbit hole tonight and watched a bunch of videos ( I haven’t read the books). Are Howland Reed and the Crannogmen basically Cajuns? They call them mud people and they eat frogs and basically live in a swamp and are short. Thought it was kind of odd that Reed was basically a choot em Clint kind of guy.

Otherwise, there's precisely 1 episode left, wrapping up what has been a great series. It's not going the direction I would have picked myself, but I'm going to see how it all plays out.
One thing I legit don't get, is that the producers seemed to say the ending would be bittersweet, which I'm failing to see happening. I don't think anyone WANTED a true psychopath Dany, which we're seemingly getting. Jon or someone having to kill her off and then claim the throne, or to allow Westeros to balkanize, that doesn't seem to have any real appeal at all. Unless the "sweet" moment is the battle for Winterfell, and the rest is bitter.

The folks of kings landing damn sure would have submitted to her after the dragon display, which is why destroyed the whole city made no sense.

Well she’s a crazy person so it’s not supposed to make sense. She snapped. That’s it.

True dat.
I'm actually curious to see if she even offers an explanation to Jon or if she just tells him to deal with it.
