I think in the books, Varys will be a secret Blackfyre, as has been theorized. Maybe it's revealed that he also drugged the Mad King, and other kings he worked for.

Those 5-10 seconds were some of the most tense moments in the entire series.
Sounds stupid but my heart was racing right there. It was 8 seasons of build up to truly see if she was a good person and you knew that it was about to be decided in that moment.
Her breathing heavy, bells ringing softly in the background, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd *she's a horrible person*
Words would have just ruined the moment. Loved it.
Yep. A one liner would have crushed the moment there. The build-up was tremendous. My reaction was "oh sh!t, she's gonna do it!"

She mentioned to Jon before the attack that nobody loves her in Westeros. Now with the perceived threat of Jon having the better claim to the throne, she decided that she must take everything by force and rule by fear, otherwise, Jon would have the throne. In other words, if she can't have it, then nobody will. She told Tyrion that Jon Snow had betrayed her. Now she will attack Jon.
