Doggie do you even know the most famous phrase of the show?
The show is titled “Game of Thrones”
The five biggest characters in the show are the daughter of the murdered Targaryen King and would be usurper of the throne, the grandson and rightful heir of the murdered Targaryen king, the former wife of the usurper of the murdered Targaryen king and current queen, the son of the former hand of the murdered Targaryen king and current hand of the would be usurper and the guy who murdered the Targaryen king.
I’ve tried to be nice about it, but anyone who thinks the show isn’t primarily about the struggle for the throne is a goddamn moron. There’s just no other way to say it.

The source material is from a song of ice and fire. The name game of thrones is the 1st book in the series. The ice and fire symbolism outweighs the fight for the iron throne by a mile.
The fight for the iron throne is the overarching theme of the entire series. The leaders of the living are the people with a claim to the throne. Everything done has been with a nod to the fight for the throne.

What was the entire plot of season 7. I’ll wait.

The entire character arc of the main character of this show was centered around the white walkers

Oh, are we discussing the books?
You'd think at this point we can talk about the show on its own, no?

I agree with this. The army of the dead was primarily a phantom menace that might destroy all of humanity, and humans must put aside their politics to fight it.
But that didn't happen, as it turns out the army of the dead was just another chess piece in the game for Cersei, which is why she is sitting pretty.
This is a POLITICAL DRAMA and the threat was always that the dead may just destroy all humanity because they were too petty to stop the politics.
Everything, even the army of the dead, still was all about politics.

The guy who just found out he's the actual heir to the throne?
There is a reason the NK was dealt with in E3 of 6 - because it wasn't the ultimate storyline.

Put the throne on hold to deal with the WW.

Except it wasn’t until season 5, and he didn’t become the main character of the show until season 6.
And now that plot is complete, and the show will spend the last three episodes closing what is the only consistent story arc across all 8 seasons: The struggle for power and the seat on the throne.

Demonstrably false. 1st episode there is no contention for the throne. There is a dude beheaded trying to warn people of the NK. Winter has been coming literally the entire series. A good portion of the last few seasons has been focused on the fact that the human titles dont matter if they dont fight the NK.
I don’t understand those who sit through seasons of our main characters arguing the titles dont matter they must fight the NK and think the silly game for the throne was more important?

The throne hasnt mattered for a while. Political intrigue hasn't mattered for a couple of seasons.
You know why the wall was so epic when you first saw it? Because it was to protect against the real big bad. It tells the viewer, hey this political drama means nothing when concerning whatever the wall is meant to stop.
It's why Winter is Coming is the house words of the main family we follow.
The first scene of the show was WW related. The series has always been telling you the army of the dead is what matters and the politics is fiddling while Rome burns.

No. Just no. The discourse is over. We're done here. You're wrong.

You’re right but that doesn’t make it ok. Like I said above Cersei and Euron’s shitty arse aren’t as compelling or fearsome final villains. There’s no sense of extreme urgency and impeding annihilation anymore. And at least the previous struggles for the throne included politics, manipulation, betrayal, etc. What’s this one going to involve since there’s only 3 episodes?

And yet, the show runners still have 3 episodes to go. Sounds like you were fooled.

Finding people to fight. The Unsullied and Dothraki are all dead.

Putting the plot of the first 6 seasons on hold to focus on the WW...while still spending roughly 60% of screen time on non-WW related plot lines.
Tonight was, literally, the fifth episode in the entire seasons which was entirely or nearly entirely focused on the WW plot.

So what you are saying is Arya didn't kill anyone important, just some random side story dude that didn't much matter to the show.

Can't we all just get along? Geez

Grey worms plot armor was super strong though. Apparently fighting in the open area in the castle with the other chars made them immune to death even though it was overrun by countless wights and a undead dragon.
