Still a little concerned here though. Bran and Sam both appear to live. Both having the knowledge that Jon is the true heir to the throne. Jon has even told Dani but yet in the preview for next show we sitting Dany and her advisors(no Jon next to her) giving the motivational speech to go south.

It seems it might be a good time to let everyone know who he is.

You're correct. Did you even read what I was responding to?

Honestly, it's hard to keep up. I'm also looking at other things.

Those are not major deaths

Littlefinger is a bigger death than the Night King, who I have no reason to suspect actually exists in the books.

I actually feared a formulaic ending. I hope we get more exposition on the NK in time.

Again, the formulaic ending would be Jon killing the Night King in one on one combat.

One battle at a time,

like they said keep fighting and there will be nobody left to rule.

need some time to digest. But, at this point, the show is feeling like how you would expect a LOTR type movie to play out with a hell of a lot of drama in between.

That was without a doubt some of the best, if not the best, film put on television. It was absolutely riveting all the way through. However, in the end it feels anticlimactic in a lot of ways. We never get any real background on the night king; his intellect, his motivations, his story.

We just ended what seemed like low key the central plot of the show. I'm not mad how it happened; Arya delivering the final blow is way more satisfying than if Jon did in my opinion. The foreshadowing by Melisandre was really badass.

I'm just sort of disappointed how we ended it in a very Michael Bay sort of way. All form, no substance. And now we move on to Kings Landing! Yayyy!!

At this point, narrowing the universe to Cersei and House Targaryen seems like it could be disappointing after the end to this epic storyline. And it also subtly feels like it has been narrowed down to that plot point out of convenience.

I'm sure it'll be entertaining, though.

Beautifully written.

I feel the same way. It's a spectacular episode but it just doesn't feel like the Westeros of Season 1. And focusing the entire plot on Cersei, with no army, feels small by comparison. I believe Cersei is going after them. And it basically becomes another cliche assassination plot.

Preferably I was hoping Bran killed the Night King through some of psychic frickupery, but no, Arya kills everyone the audience doesn’t like.

Then neither do you dumbass, so to say what you did was wrong. What we do know though is that the one identified planned prequel was scrapped

Oh and by the way, using Littlefinger’s dagger to kill the Night King means Littlefinger helped take him down. No, Littlefinger was wicked and had no business having any part of taking a greater evil than himself.

I just need to know what the Night King wanted. If it was really just to "wipe out the memories of man" or whatever Bran mumbled about I am going to be incredibly pissed. Legit the "primary" antagonist and sense of dread for the entire show and thats it? One big battle with no backstory or anything just to die and thats it?

What even is Bran's purpose at all? If he just wanted to kill Bran...why didn't Jon do the honorable thing and you know...kill Bran himself so thousands of people didn't die?

Questions need to be answered. And, based upon how HBO has been ending a lot of their major series (Sopranos, True Detective, Westworld) we might now get them.
