Yeah, I think he sacrifices himself somehow to resurrect someone.
In the book he brought Lady Stoneheart back. In the show Thoros & Melisandre even say that it's not them that are magical, it's the LoL.
Maybe that means any devout follower can do it. It would definitely serve his purpose

I think they all figured that out simultaneously. Somebody (Jon I think) killed a WW and most of the wights around him died. It may have been Beric who said that the one left standing was likely made by another WW, but I don't think that's a brilliant enough insight that the LoL would have kept him around for that. Not to mention, I prefer the theory that there are no real "gods" in this world, only people with the ability to tap into a type of ambient magic that has been on the upswing.

Why not? This show has shown plenty of gruesome murders like someone’s head being crushed, zombie children, rape on a couple of occasions, and people (including children) being crucified.
