Im sure you’ll be here letting us know how terrible how all women are and how they should be the bane of everyone else’s existence too.

BS from people who don't like how popular it's become.

It’s the same people that like to announce they’ve never seen one episode NOT EVEN ONE EVERYBODY!!!

No, I don’t think it’s good television anymore.

there is nothing better in the whole TD universe than this place immediately after a new GOT episode

I’m confused. What do you think her reaction should’ve been? Or are you just mad at the timing?

Her reaction was just repeating what most of the audience already knew. It's like they wrote it for people who just started watching the show.

quote:

Dany: That means you're the last male Targaryen heir.

Jon: ...yeah

Dany: So you have a claim to the Iron Throne.

Jon: No shite. Are you just thinking out loud? Who are you talking to?

That's how I felt about the scene. That plus the timing didn't make any sense either.

In the books, she blushes whenever she thinks about him, and catches herself imagining them together.

In the books, Brienne is a bit of a basket case who is worried men are just using her or trying to screw her for fun. That doesn't exactly scream for her to go around screwing for fun.

In the show, she's utterly embarrassed to admit her attraction and still hasn't had much time with him since then to deal with those feelings. Also, her being knighted is a better arc completion for her character.

Arya actually acting like a human and admitting that she might die likewise pushes her character forward.

E3 of #GameOfThrones  S8, the Battle of Winterfell, will feature the longest battle sequence in film or TV history. The episode boasts the most characters since the pilot & director Miguel Sapochnik says it's longer than 'The Lord of the Rings' Helm's Deep siege ??

I think tonight was the worst example of that. The way Dany reacted to the news was so hamfisted, like they were having to spell it out for people who had never watched the show before.

Hit the nail on the head. The entire scene was to basically spell it all crystal clear out for everyone who either hasn't been paying attention or just recently started watching.

Contrast their conversation with the the conversation between Brann and Jamie. That scene was actually done very well, neither one of them has to go into detail about what they are talking about because they both know what they are talking about.

"Why didn't you tell them?" is so much more realistic and graceful than something like:

"Why didn't you tell them that I pushed you out of that tower here in Winterfell so many years ago?"

That sorts of obvious "catch the audience up" exposition should be beneath a show like this.

Disagree. They’re getting drunk in anticipation of some heavy shite. Seemed just right to me.

To be clear...I actually enjoyed that series of scenes. All of them together. Stories, songs, jokes.

No complaints.

It was just that one factor, the whole dialogue, how it was set up, telegraphed, made me roll my eyes a bit.

I can just see it being written like a lame FB story.
“Girls can’t be knights.”

Then a gold handed man said, “anyone can be a knight if they are made by another knight.”

And then he made her a knight and all the bigots ran off crying and everyone clapped.

God it’s not even really a criticism just a meta joke.

Some of You people need to learn to laugh at yourselves. We’re all enjoying the experience together.
Don’t get pissy if someone doesn’t enjoy it the same way as you

Good episode I thought. The girl shite is heavy handed IMO but not keeping me from enjoying it. The Arya Gendry scene made me really uncomfortable for some reason.

I agree that clique snobbery can exist amongst edgelords who don't want to like anything that gets popular, but I honestly don't get that vibe from most GoT criticism of the past 2-3 years.

I never read the books ever, didn't start watching still the 2nd season I still love the show the past few seasons, but I can go back and rewatch the first 3 seasons over and over and they really do stand out as just better than the past few years.

Exactly. These episodes aren’t bad compared to other shows on tv but these episodes don’t represent why GoT got as popular as it did

You think they ever bring up the fact they have fricked as Aunt/Nephew?

I think her reaction in that scene, as well as her two Sansa scenes are setting Dany up for a meltdown.

She was too much of a bitch to tell Sansa, sure y’all can have the North after all you’ve been through. Then, she was obviously jealous as frick at Theon’s loyalty to Sansa. Lastly, she was essentially accusing Bran and Sam of forming some lie to start a coup against her so Jon can be the true heir.

I’m telling y’all, she’s going full Targaryen by the end of the season and they’ll have to put her down. She’s going to fly off the rails.

I think Tyrion's little quip about becoming "the dead" and traveling south to tear his sisters face off may be a little foreshadowing.

I’ve been saying for a while now that we have a Giant whitewalker and we have a Dragon whitewalker and we have a few horse white walkers, but we don’t yet have a dwarf white walker ...

Get over yourself dipshit. People complained about the dip in quality of the books before the show was even made

Thank you! That was my only problem with the episode really. That and Emilia Clarke trying to act.

By the way those are wights who are essentially mindless and controlled by the White Walkers (most if not all are Crastor’s sons) and the NK.
