Why does Bran shun his family and say "I'm not Bran anymore," but give a shite about the guy that pushed him out a window
No evidence so far that he does give a shite.
Next episode might start with Bran saying " Hey Jamie, what's up"?

Interesting episode. A few things of note:
1. F that screaming Umber kid. I saw the blue eyes right before and still jumped. Though the two parties meeting up earlier was pretty entertaining.
2. That Golden Company guy was Harry Strickland for any non-book readers who might be wondering. A rather minor character in the books, but interesting.
3. Bronn asking which whore had the pox after Qyburn mentioned it was hilarious. Also, did anyone else pick up on the Ed Sheeran reference? The ginger Eddie who got his face melted off?
4. The staying at the waterfall for a thousand years scene definitely brought back echoes of Ygritte. No bueno.
5. I actually enjoyed all of the reunions. Even the Brann/Jamie cliffhanger.

Not bad about what I expected. Did people really think it would just jump right into the fighting or what? They needed to have this set up. I thought the whole dragon ride with the dragon watching them make out was frickin dumb though

Brann with the Jedi mind tricks.
Sam acting like a lil bitch after Dany telling him about her Dad. And then trying the bros before hoes with John.
Arya/Gendry flirting. Hound called her a cold lil bitch lol.
Lady Mormong calling out John right away lmao.
And yes frick the Umber kid. That was one weird message

I just want to learn why exactly the NK is marching south.
Sure, taking over the continent and converting all living creatures into the fighting dead is cool, but I’m interested to see if the NK has another goal/reason for marching south.
Pretty sure this was already covered in the show. The children of the forest made him to protect them from mankind. They thought they could control him. They failed. His goal is to kill all mankind.
Unless it turns out that Bran really is the night king, I'm pretty sure they're done with any other backstory there might be.

He might thank him. Since he can see past, present, and future, he probably understands how certain events shaped his, the starks, and winter fells future, that would not have happened without him being 3ER.

But he does have a hard on for the 3ER. Why? He seems to have a method to his madness and is driven by more than pure destruction. I mean he’s leaving gang sign warnings with dead kids in the middle.
I enjoyed the premiere just fine. Everybody complained about fast travel last season and are now complaining about placing the pieces on the board in the premiere for the coming conflict. Seeing the dragons fly over Winterfell was great and can’t wait to see the Bran/Jamie reunion next week. I hope the don’t drag out the Sansa/Dany drama much longer and they probably won’t since all hell is about to break loose.
Dany’s attitude tonight did make me care a little less if she dies or not. She seems to be getting a little more self absorbed and less about protecting the north like she claimed last season.
Side note: where does the slightly thick ginger’s tits rate on the list? I put them in the top half.

I really can't stand Sansa and it's not because she's a female. Her know-it-all attitude sucks and her arrogance is misplaced. She hasn't done jack shite to "earn" anything, her name has kept her alive and in play all this time.

Right? They’ve never written a story much less on a budget. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices
if we're talking budget, they completely mishandled last season and this season
hell that CGI bear last year was a couple mil and was utterly pointless. the entire 7 samurai going to get a wight was also a silly storyline that was expensive with its final fight (and the bear, obviously). it seems like the only real reason they did that was to create a subplot to allow the NK to tear down the wall, also
they can also do things like cut down on Dany's dragons
budget is not an excuse when they've wastefully spent money on pointless stuff
based on what GGRM has said I always assumed his story wouldn't even end with a huge battle between the NK's army and humanity. things would ultimately be figured out/resolved prior to that. i guarantee that battle blew this truncated season's budget
there are 3 main issues right now
1. D/D have written themselves into a bad world/scenario. this is season 6 and 7 coming home to roost
2. D/D are obsessed with fan service. almost that entire episode was fan service. they're wrapping up character scenarios in a nice and tidy bow, which is not what built ASOIAF/GOT
3. D/D are wasting budget and sacrificing story to give bigger battles, monsters, and dragons. the battles and CGI and dragons aren't what made GOT interesting. the political drama, story, and character development is what made GOT interesting.

this isn't the Hodor thread
i wouldn't care if they skipped the big battles on screen

-Sansa being a bitch to Tyrion pissed me off. He protected her and never did her wrong from what I remember. He looked out for her and didn’t even try and consummate the marriage he was forced to do. I think she is becoming more like Cersei
I felt the same. Bitch, he gave you the best and safest days of your life since you left Winterfell till well after you came back. Show some respect.

Some of the dialogue... Yeesh. The dragon ride and kiss at the end was so cringe.

i didn’t think the episode was that great. What I did like was how episode one of season one ended with Jamie and Brann and this one ended did the same.

In what world is Sansa Stark smarter than Tyrion Lannister or Varys?
that is actually the point when i was completely turned off
In a world where the two most powerful people in the kingdom are vindictive bitches.
Sansa & Arya have been through hell and their characters have changed greatly because of it.
Cercie has gone from being a second fiddle to her husband and father to being utterly cutthroat top dog.
Denarius struggles with being benevolent and being a conqueror.
Tyrion’s logic is based on reason and would have been good during peacetime. He underestimated the crazy of all the above.
Jon and Jamie are the same characters and still trying to be valiant and do what’s best for everyone. That hasn’t worked out for them in the past.
That’s the State of Westeros and was set up by this show.

Exactly. Some admin killed the other thread about how terrible it was too

Yeah, I would've just kept that to myself. That will do ZERO good for you at the present moment.
all that Sam-John-Dany stuff at the end was just forced conflict
this show has 5 episodes left and it's being set up for a huge battle in one of them (will probably be the entire episode based on how D/D do things). there isn't enough time to create new political drama and center around a battle
D/D are trying to act like this is still season 2/3 (the peak of GOT) when they've set up an entirely different show

I was only kidding when I said Bran was waiting to troll the King Slayer. Jamie can't fight well any more, he has no army to command, nobody wants him there (without an army), he seems to have no point in Winterfell. I would bet that Bran is going to send him on some side quest.
