We see him and Bronn commanding an army in the trailers. Given the speculation that Danny takes Casterly Rock (though she has to sail very close to the Iron Islands to get there), it seems a solid bet that Jaime is going west at some point.

Sorry that was a typo. I meant Casterly Rock. Given the unsullied rushing a castle that was definitely not KL

I think there are only a few things that would make cersei "trust" him. Dead or alive Tyrion, Ellaria, Queen of Thornes, Dany, Sansa, Jon, Varys, or a dragon. Cersei probably wouldn't even care if it were Yara or Theon because those two aren't the major threats that the others are.

He's a famous singer. Maisie Williams is a huge fan of his and they surprised her by giving him a cameo.
He's one of many musicians who've done cameos but they weren't nearly as famous or recognizable. I guess that's why people are really upset.
Coldplay's drummer was a musician in the red wedding but it was more subtle.
