Random question, but is there any chance that they decide to add an episode or two to next season to tell the story they want to tell? Why limit it to just 6 and leave things in the tank?

They've made it clear that they plan to finish it in six episodes. They will probably make the episodes longer if they need to.

We better get Cleganebowl in S8. Death, taxes, and Cleganebowl are what is certain in life.

This is based on nothing but my opinion, but I think they decided to go with a bunch of expensive special effects over going with 10 episodes each of the last two seasons.

They have probably scheduled other shows around the 6 episodes already so the length of the episodes don't matter as much as chewing up more nights.

So, Bran needs ravens (or similar) to see the present, but can see anything in the past?

I wonder, what's the tape delay time... can he go to yesterday anywhere? Does he need to wait a week, a year?

Because you have to think, he's waiting for the conversations between Cersei and her brothers to load. Knowing whether Cersei is true or not is the biggest thing he can do now- we know the Night King can jam his signal.
And Jon's lineage is pointless; Snow, Sand, Stark or Targ, if he and Dany wed he's going to be the King. Dany's claim would be enough for that. There's no pressing need to tell him anything (unless you're setting up your prenuptial agreements).

That's not the same thing since Charles is a prince (since he married a Queen). In this scenario Jon himself is the true heir.

Eta:Phillip not Charles

I Agree, I was sorta stating that his lineage does matter. That's Prince Phillip by the way, the queens husband who doesn't carry the title of king..yet his son will once they stop outliving everyone.

I just cant get over the bad writing of having Jons real name be Aegon.

Really? of all the names??

I agree. No way that's his birth name in the books. While I've thought it was Jaehaerys for some time, I now think Aemon would be the appropriate name. Rhaegar constantly wrote Aemon on the Wall and Aemon was Jon's biggest mentor save for Ned. I think that would be a touching tribute.

GRRM is not the Shakespeare you guys make him out to be. He is not above doing things like that. Never mind the Aegon name is common as all get out in the Targaryen line. It's really not all that crazy to have a second kid w/the same name.

I agree. Let's not tell him. How do we convince the writers to kill Bran and Sam in Season 8, Episode 1, minute 1?

Sam eats bran. Wouldn't take a minute.

Feast of Crows is the last thing Martin wrote that was worth a shite and that was twelve years ago. Don't care what the rest of the readers say. Dance was a poor effort. Can't even imagine the shite outline D&D have had to wade through. I bet they are tired carrying that fat frick. I'm going to continue to enjoy the HBO ride because it may be all we ever get.

Save for George Foreman, name one. It seems utterly ridiculous to me naming your kid the same name. I have known a set of twins which I think was fricked where one was named Andrea and the other was named Andria. Pronounced very slightly differently, but they both loathed it and became nuttier than squirrel shite.

Theon's chapters were solid.

I'm sure this has been discussed but imo the remnants of Yara's Ironborn had a pretty good plan.

Way better than going with Theon to Pyke.
