One way or another, they know how important Bran is.

As far as we know he is the only living green seer. Given that he has already uncovered unknown knowledge about the WW, it is pretty straightforward to see how he is so dangerous to them.
He could peer trough history to know about hidden caches of dragon glass. He could reveal Jon's history, helping create alliance between North (controlled by Jon) and south (controlled by Danny).
He also has the ability to affect the past, which opens whole new realms of possibilities.

But the white walkers dont know any of that except he's a greenseer. And they have allowed the 3ER to live all this time. Didn't they know he has been the master greenseer sitting on their land this whole time?

He's been in a cave protected by Magic...

I don't think that is where they are going with Bran. Can he affect the past? Sure, but from what we've seen so far only slightly. He is more likely to screw it up if he interferes. I'm pretty sure his role going forward will be to observe and gather knowledge that can be used in modern time.
His power is knowledge that can be spread to whomever he sees fit.

Thanks for finding that, it's exactly what I was looking for!
No problem! There's a lot more story to go...crazy to think we are passing the halfway point. I'm not ready for GoT withdrawals again.

I certainly hope so, all I'm saying is we (and possibly the WW) don't know how powerful he actually could be.
Plus if they are magically prevented from crossing the wall, then they probably don't have much else to do at this point.
Maybe the Night King knows that Bran is a way to bring the wall down? So he is setting this up as a trap in a sense:

What i want to know is, why does the WW want bran so badly?
He's the one who has the best chance at stopping them. Sure dragons help, but I'd be much more fearful of Bran than Jon or Dany if I were the Night's King. His warging could become so powerful that he could literally take over his army. Bran would be my primary target if I were the Night's King.

That's really all they need to know that he's a massive threat. It'd be like you knowing that only one country possess the world's nuclear bombs. A greenseer is the only one who can truly feasibly stop them.

The three dragons are a massive threat to the point where I don't know how the WWs combat them. Nevertheless they can't really Impact Dany at the moment, so focus on Bran first.

So GRRM has said a couple things I think are interesting:
1. He has re-written the Hodor reveal so it will go down differently in the books.
2. He had the twist planned since 1991.
The first is just interesting to speculate about what may be different. The second is both interesting and (for me) concerning. I'm pretty sure he started writing the book series in 1991, and I believe he previously said he has known the ending since then. Obviously Bran has a big part to play, but how much power does he have? Surely he won't just serve as a glorified cheat code to get everyone out of a messy situation, right?

This makes sense, but I don't think it's a given. We saw them walk right through the cotf fire last episode. The dragons and ww could be sort of yin yang situation where they are equal, but opposite ends of the spectrum.

Jeez if he alters the ending because of the show it will be a shite show

My guess is the location of the door will be different. It will be the secret door to enter the Nightfort. And I think Hodor will not die in WoW but ADOS. Jojen will be the one killed where Hodor was in the show.

I believe him here.

Regardless, the dragons aren't near him. As weak as the Night's Watch and the Seven Kingdoms are, I don't think the Night's King is all that concerned with Jon. A greenseer that could turn his army against him and warn the world of his presence, I think that is a highly pressing matter for him.

That was my point about Danny, she may long term be a big issue, but there is a giant ocean separating them right now. No need to frick around with her.
Everyone in Westeros outside of Bran is a non-issue as things stand right now. Jon leading a reunited North outfitted with some dragon is maybe a mild issue, but yeah... They still don't have the huge amount of dragon glass.

Oh my god he needs to finish the fricking book.
Someone mentioned on a podcast that GRRM is using the show to test an ending to the story (especially now that it will finish well ahead of him), and I think I believe that. He definitely doesn't want to frick up the end game, it is basically his entire legacy
Edit: to clarify, they were speculating that he might be doing this, it was not fact or a quote from him obviously

Dude at this rate I honestly think there is a 90% chance he dies before finishing the last book and that's being conservative. I hate saying it as itd obviously be a huge tragedy for readers.
Edit: He's senile if he thinks that is even a close to cool idea. Wasting those years and all
