Why is this still in question? Brienne cut his head off. The Boltons found his body but don't know who killed him. They discussed it this episode

GOT has seriously fallen in quality the last several seasons. It is by far not the best show on TV anymore. Too many overly complicated story lines drawn out too long. A show like Black Sails makes a mockery of it.

i was thinking last night during the episode that i think one of the big issues with the presentation and drama is the lack of political intrigue in king's landing. in seasons 2-4 (by far the best glut of the series) that was the "home base" for the drama and the rest was ancillary

that has been replaced by the religious drama and cersei's story almost exclusively and i think that just hurts the overall structure

the political conflict was the backbone of the overall story and now it's much more fractured...in westeros. in essos, there is political conflict in mireen, but frick danny's story although i guess removing her from mireen could make it better, so we'll see)

So you didn't watch any season before this? Those were all clips from last season. I have no idea how you wouldn't know unless you just started watching last night.

well tommen was emo when marg was taken, and his mama told him that it's what he put into law blah blah blah

i'm guessing she gets taken before talking to him about hte possibility of HER getting taken and he's just super emo feeling helpless

i wonder how he's reacted to cersei coming back. since jaime is back i'm guessing it's been a couple weeks in KL?

For what it's worth, pages 9 and 10 of this thread are hilarious.

There's just too much going on and everyone just keep changing places instead of going forward. It's hard to advance the plot when there are like 10 plots going on at the same time.

Also, I agree SFP, the chess maneuvering and the human rivalries were great, now it's getting a little too fantasy world for me.

I still like it and will still watch every episode but I'm less and less hopeful that it will continue to be/get back to being as awesome as it once was.

Fwiw, some people like a quick recap before heading into the new season. There's obviously a ton of story lines in the show and if it hasn't been on your mind in 10 months, a quick refresher is nice. I was able to watch 5:10 on Saturday and had forgot about some of the details.

Tl;dr: don't be a dick

I think a lot of the viewers just need to stick with Dumb and Dumber, Beavis and Butthead, Jackass and other shows designed for the 15 year old male.

Others need to go work on a PhD in cinema where they can spend their lives just hating everything.

Dany always needs to be saved...she reminds me of Ronda Roussey. Talks all this mad shite but when everything hits the fan gets beat the frick down...except in GOT unlike UFC your coaches can run into the octagon and fight on your behalf.

All this talk about I am going to break the wheel, I am Queen of all these annoying titles I gave myself that no one else recognizes because they are stupid, I get everyone killed etc. She has to be the world's most retarded ruler.

Having said that I love Dink but even he wasn't his usual witty self. Are the HBO writers now taking over all script/dialogue responsibilities since Decrepit George can't seem to finish WOW? Dink's no dick joke just didn't do it for me...he is suppose to be better than that...at least a more elaborate no dick joke...that was like a knock knock joke.

Agreed. That was the intrigue. Hell, the entire intro is about displaying all these various factions. Instead

Baratheon-dead

Stark-pretty damn weak and on the run

Lannister-on the iron throne, but pretty docile at present, and their most powerful figure is dead

Tyrells- both heirs in a religious dungeon

Targaryen- well, pretty much hasn't been a threat to westeros the entire time

So why is westeros so much better than where Dany is at now? Mereen feels like Rome, while westeros feels like the old shitty medieval cruel kings.

Westeros has lost its allure. Although for a moment they had the white walker issue becoming bigger, but that's moving really slow.

theory (I've not read a word of any books, so if I hit on anything it is pure coincidence):

Red Woman said she saw Jon fighting in Winterfell in the flames. At this point, she is unsure why he is "dead" until....they go to burn his body....and it won't burn. You can't burn a Dragon. Then it clicks, and she resurrects him as the true heir to the Iron Throne and FATHER of Dragons.

We know that the Lord of Light is real, and operates in fire. We know that the dragon line is the legitimate bloodline to the throne. The dragon bloodline is favoured by the Lord of Light (both born in fire). We know that the main supernatural characters (white walkers, red woman) feel something about Jon Snow. Jon is the dragon King. Dany is meaningless. Tyrion will be Jon's hand who will connect him with HIS dragons (remember Tyrion studied dragons and targereyans more than anyone in the world).
