Massive fortresses and crazy lovecraftian shite
I think our only chance to get that would be with the Arya sequel series or a theoretical Corliss series. None of the remaining histories go anywhere near Asshai, etc.

I want to see what weird shite goes on in K'Dath, but I'm sure I'll never get to.

Think i remember seeing that there is an animated series about Corlys' voyages coming out. Will be interesting to see if they keep him as a black guy

Unless they change the story a bit, I don't see how it works in either. There's not a ton of conflict involved. Dragons > humans.

If anything, it would need to be multiple movies. There’s tons of material there.

Look at how many specific battles/conflicts are on this map, and that is before the Reach/Westerlands/North get involved. A movie would also start a little earlier when they are first on Dragonstone before deciding to conquer Westeros.

'm just not sure there's enough to make it interesting for an entire movie.

And what's you ending? Guy torches armies, takes over the country and marries his sisters? Wow, what a hero's journey.

Yea I personally have no desire for a GoT movie. Content is going to get very watered down.

Sure, there were battles. I could also hear an argument that the whole Argilac the Arrogant thing would be good, but it also seems to come back to it being completely unnecessary. The Field of Fire just proves that the armies are a waste of time. Also, everyone knows they win. At least with House of the Dragon, you wouldn't know what is going to happen without researching first since it's a battle between Targaryens.

I just don’t understand the backlash here. For years people have been begging for Aegon’s Conquest and now that it’s happening people are complaining.

Also, besides just the end result of the war, there are tons of storylines that most people don’t know details about unless they’ve read the books or researched online. How the Baratheons come to control Storms End, how the Tullys control the Riverlands, etc.

In my case in particular, I have always thought Aegon's Conquest is not all that interesting since I first read about it in one of the first Westeros history books. I think there are way more interesting stories that GRRM either lightly mentions or goes into detail about in his various books:

1. Blackfyre Rebellions
2. Travels of Corliss Velaryon
3. Andal Invasions
4. Robert's Rebellion (although, I'm not all that interested in this either because so much of it has been addressed)
5. Nymeria (the woman, not the wolf)
6. Aenys and Maegor Targaryen
7. Brandon the Builder
8. Lan the Clever

I think the only ones to make it to a screen would be:

1) Harrenhal
2) Storm's End Campaign
3) Field of Fire
4) Meeting in the North
5) Corronation at Oldtown

It really is better set up as one 10 episode series.

There's been enough milking of the Game of Thrones IP. It's as boring as the Lord of the Rings now.

If they want to tap into a good story that will never be finished, they can adapt Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles. I want to see Kvothe on the big screen.

Alternately, they need to do a sequel to the Dungeons and Dragon's movie that came out a few years ago with Chris Pine. Maybe this time throw in some famous old school guys, like Raistlin or Tanis, from Krynn and maybe pull in a multiverse to include Drizzt. If my stoner friend from the 90's could DM a plot into existence, the guys that get paid the big bucks can too.

Don't even get me started on all the stuff Sanderson has written that isn't a movie.

While I don’t agree the GOT or LOTR takes, I do naturally agree with the above.

Apple just signed a deal with him to make Mistborn a movie series and Stormlight a tv series. The deal gives him more control than JK Rowling had for HP.
