I was pissed off about the battle scene. They totally fricked over Tryrion's role. That little midget road his horse into battle and actually took a prisoner.
He didn't get knocked out before the battle.
I think the TV version puts more focus on Ned than the book did. The book is about so much more.

Will we ever get to see an epic battle take place in this series?

can you imagine the casting call for this series?

"Any hotels around here rent out by the week?"

Yeah I wanted to see more about the capture of Jamie at night, but..whatever. They signed, sealed, and delivered on the Ned execution.

I didn't watch the episode, but did they at least include the part where he stabbed the horse with his helm?

I'd settle for just some more direwolf. Where the hell was Grey Wind after the Battle of the Whispering Wood?

Yeah, but there was a strong undercurrent of hope in the book that Ned would be there to right things...to be into the fight to the end.

I just yelled out "Oh My GAWDDDD" and my husband was in the kitchen and said, "shite gettin' real in there?" Well yea! They just killed a main character!!!! Was totally not expecting that. What a little fricker! I hate Joffrey! I hope Arya slices his neck open next week. frick him!

Its one of those shows that would get people to GLADLY get killed, just so they can say they were on it. And if this is just a harbinger of things to come, this show could become an epic.

Poor Sean Bean, does he ever get a role in an epic series where he doesn't die early?
First Boromir and now Ned Stark.
Maybe he doesn't like to be tied down.

We'd like to offer you the role of one of the top 3 main characters.
[three weeks later]
Oh, by the way, you will die in the 7th episode of the first season. Hope you didn't buy a new house or anything.
