Poor Sean Bean, does he ever get a role in an epic series where he doesn't die early?
First Boromir and now Ned Stark.
Maybe he doesn't like to be tied down
I was thinking this too. He was on one of the most epic movie trillogies ever - Dies early
He gets in on what could be an epic TV series - died early.

The Wall would of have been lucky to get him. They need more men like him up there with what is coming.

I've been thinking it for about 5-6 weeks, but had to wait patiently to post it.

The relatively short stint was one of the reasons they were able to get Bean for the role.

I was slightly worried the whole time that they wouldn't do it. I assumed because Martin was involved that they wouldn't change something as massive as that but you never know.
And, yes, no one is safe.
Tyrion did get screwed a bit as far as the battle went but still another great episode.

Anyone see the movie Black Death that he recently starred in?

It took me a long time after reading that part to accept that it wasn't a dream or something and that Ned stark was actually fricking dead.
To everyone who stopped reading the books so they could be surprised with the show you're making a huge mistake IMO. to paraphrase what Books said when I asked him whether I should read or watch 'if you choose the show you're experiencing a fantastic story in the inferior medium.' the books are THAT much better than the show (and the show is fricking great)

I thought they really delievered on the execution scene.
Though I read the book a long time ago and knew full well what was coming, I still felt some strong emotion when the sword fell.
Sansa and Arya's reactions were heartbreaking.

No, any good? Basic plot?
eta: I'm assuming he dies early in it.

I've never read the books, so I was floored when it happened. I'm so pissed right now.

I completely agree. The books provide you with the characters thoughts by using the POV mode. It actually added to my enjoyment of the series immensely.

They nailed the whole scene. I had chills even knowing it was all coming. Sansa having to watch that was rough

During the execution, I was literally hollering at my tv for someone to do something. Then I was hoping Ned would of somehow started saying the truth about the lannisters!

Dumb bitch shouldn't have told Cersie of their plans to leave.
Of course, Dumb Ned shouldn't have told Cersei he knew about the incest.
