It is amazing how easily people are fooled by charisma .
The weird thing is, he didn't really seem charismatic at all to me

Dude just seemed socially awkward and nerdy

That cringey-arse toast they did?

Depressingly enough, I think that is what passes as charismatic for young millennials these days.

So he didn't pocket those money like Bernie and the guys you listed. He thought it was ALL gonna work out via the power of wish fulfillment.

Doesn't mean he wasn't scamming people. Wasn't for direct financial gain (although it was to promote his Fyre app). He was scamming his investors with fake information. He was scamming his ticket buyers with false advertising of what they actually had. He was scamming his vendors. He was scamming the person he was buying the original island from. Those were blatant, intentional lies for personal gain. He tried to put on an actual festival, so in the grand scheme that wasn't a scam. But every step along the way was a scam.

Yes but those guys are actual Scam. Fyre Fest was not a scam

Uhhh what

He defrauded investors and purposefully cooked the books to make both of his companies seem more profitable than they were

And the dude was living in a primo loft in NYC, driving around in expensive cars, partying his arse off with instamodels paid by his investors. He certainly spent ill gotten gains in the same way that Bernie did

I don’t have Hulu but want to watch this.

Does Hulu offer any free trial period and that I can cancel after?

I said the exact same thing watching it

As much a con-man as he is, during that interview, even an amateur could read his body language

he's lying, and he's afraid

I’m so glad I’m not into these Hollywood wanna be scene activities. These people are such losers spending their life savings to hang around these wanna be celebrities and be seen with the coolest party on the block. These people are so fake I couldn’t stand to be around them.

The investors were deceived, and defrauded. I am referring to his "team" that knew exactly how fricked things were getting, and exactly how reckless Billy was being, but were too blinded by Billy's confidence in his "vision" to blow the whistle, or even just simply quit.
