Watched it a few days ago. Awesome documentary. CEO dude was way in over his head. But, when you see yourself as a Mark Zuck type executive, I guess you think you can do anything.

His lie about having 25 houses rented but losing the box of keys was like something a 4 year old would come up with. He was such a genius huh.

The guy being serious about sucking the officials dick to import the bottled water into Jamaica was wild as hell.

I found it to be a metaphor for the Facebook/Instagram cultural era as in what was put forth leading up to event looked amazing and perfect when the reality behind it was a dysfunctional disaster.

That’s what I think when I see all of these people that try to present their lives as so great on social media.

Yeah, it really is the perfect metaphor.

Saw the Hulu Documentary last night. Was highly entertained. Just a bunch of rich kids with endless amounts of their parents cash wanting to look cool on instagram. The line-up was absolutely terrible. I don't know who it was in the talk show interview, but he said "whoever paid $3,000 to go see Blink 182 deserved to be duped" hit the nail on the head.

I've only watched the Netflix one, and I have no plans of watching the Hulu one, because I have no desire to hear that frickwad get interviewed.

What a delusional, sociopathic, greedy piece of shite. He is a complete failure of human consciousness. It is amazing how easily people are fooled by charisma . It has happened throughout human history, but it blows my mind that people can't see through obvious deceit. It is depressing, and scary.

I agree that the startup culture and Billy's charisma blinded the people working for him, but Jesus Christ, they knew that there was no possible way that it wouldn't be a disaster, and yet they still turned a blind eye, and let it happen. Unreal, really.

Is no one going to talk about Grant, the marketing guy, ridiculous 1000 word email about what type of music he wants in the promo video? Dude had to be on some type of stimulant when typing that. When he said he needed Brazilian drums i lost my shite.

And he was just some nerd who joined the adult frat credit card club and complained about perks he wanted. He was a total wannabe wolf of Wall Street virgin.

Both docs really pointed out what a douche he was. Him making them put all the key words in twice because he didn't believe they weren't case sensitive was nice.

I thought it was a hilarious spotlight on the vapidity of large subsets of our current culture.

You should check out the American Meme on Netflix. Gives an insight into the social media culture created that is all a facade

Just watched the Netflix one.

Oh. My. God.

Comedy writers couldn't come up with something that hilarious. Ja Rule? A guy named "Mdavid"? Dick sucking for trucks of water? Hurricane relief tents as cabanas? Check check check and check

Is the Hulu one a must watch?

Hulu doc isn’t as good.

But does offer some different perspectives, like frickJerry knew a lot more about what was going on than they implied in the Netflix doc.

Ja Rule trying to be a businessman was the funniest part about this. I kept waiting for him to just blurt our “it’s murda”.

The weird thing is, he didn't really seem charismatic at all to me

Dude just seemed socially awkward and nerdy

That cringey-arse toast they did?

There was some serious naivety and denial going on with those people

And of course that gay dude sucked the dick, he couldn't wait to tell that story

Just recently watched this, and it seems like for anybody who actually got to know this clown, surely he came off more socially awkward than anything. He was smart enough to work people who didn't know him and seem convincing doing it, but seems like once shite started snowballing he was too much of a pussy to cut his loses(everyone's losses at that). Once it got really bad, he just decided to lie/bullshite to keep the fantasy going. I gotta give credit to the fruitcake that was willing to give blowjobs in a fubar'ed situation, that's dependability. The fricking pilot seemed like the only person with any logistical/engineering knowledge they interviewed that knew there was no way this could be done. McFarland thought everything could be solved with frick you money that he didn't even have.

Sadly, I think the only people who didn't get what they deserved were probably those models. You know those broads lacked even the slightest smidge of sense to know where this would take them when they posted pics of the event originally

No joke. Dude looked and talked like he was on the spectrum. He reminded me of Lil Kev from it's always sunny

Agree.

One thing I laughed at were all the people after the fact saying they knew this wasnt going to work, this is going to fail, but they all just kept chugging along.

The head guy has such a punchable face. Ja Rule came off as a major tool. His toast was terrible

I'd also like to add I would've still had a blast on a Bahamian beach with nothing but liquor and an air mattress

It did a better job at explaining social media influence culture and "fomo".

I knew nothing about this stuff before watching the Hulu doc, and I'm in the same age group as these people.
