Boy posters here really have issues with black people.
Have y'all seem the play?

Closest racists.

The original movie had a bunch of black voice actors so I'm not sure why they suddenly have an issue with this.

frick them for not getting Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Rowan Atkinson...... Etc.

Or... Why recast a bunch of iconic voices when those original voices are still alive?
Also, Billy Eichner is terrible and his teaming up with Seth Rogan is going to be a disaster. And John Oliver is sure to ruin Zazu.

Jeremy irons should be scar again. His voice is the only one I can imagine in that role. Chiwetel seems too soft spoken. I'm sure it'll be good though.

Simba and his family were black?

They should have gotten Nathan lane and Jeremy Irons though.

After this comes out, someone should do a fan edit, dubbing the original voices over the new visuals.

I have few VO pet peeves more than when a reboot of a franchise happens and they "go in a different direction" for an iconic voice. Bay stiffing Frank Welker for Megatron when they redid Transformers (but was smart enough to keep Peter Cullen as Prime) is infuriating.
I can only imagine the firestorm of faux controversy if they'd cast better voice actors for the roles that went to black folks, just for outrage's sake.

Whoppi Goldberg must've been too white to reprise her role.

Disney is clearly running out of ideas.
More like they're being lazy. It's not like they can't be creative if they don't want to. But as an executive, going for a sure thing even if it's a retread is way better (to them) in today's day and age than going for something new and risking it flopping. I think we all know here while it might not be a good movie, it's certainly going to make a ton of money.

It's going to make a metric shite-ton of money. Is it going to be a musical? Either way, you know Beyonce is going to do a couple of songs for the soundtrack.
And I think Cumberbatch is going to be the bad guy in the other CGI Jungle Book movie, the one that got shelved when the first one was a massive hit. So that's why they probably didn't cast him.

Yeah, he is the voice of Shere Khan in the Serkis Jungle Book.

I didn't say they HAVE to. Just that it makes more sense and is more accurate. That's a fact.
It would be more accurate if they didn't have talking animals in the films.

That is one not diverse group.

Some Americans (white and black), some Brits, some Jews, some serious actors, some comedians, etc.
It's fairly diverse. Or at least moreso than it is getting credit for.
