re: Full Cast of Live Action Lion King (2019)

I've given Disney and Hollywood a fair share of shite for casting and story decisions that were not merited and were for SJWs purposes.
This however does not deserve criticism. The story is set in Africa. The characters have African names. It makes sense that the characters are black. It doesn't matter what nonsense some of you want to stir. Criticism doesn't have a leg to stand on with this one.

The characters in the movie are not black. Or white. Or human.
They're lions and birds and pigs and whatever Timon is. Which don't have a race.

well this movie does have humans
and it's set in Africa
it's not a far reach to say "hey, maybe a movie set in Africa should have black folks playing the lead roles"
it's just not a big deal

Well I like how it is was okay in one instance, but because it’s Africa and liberals bend over for culcha we can’t have white people voicing lions. It’s racism.

They really should have cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Scar.
No they should have just brought back Jeremy Irons

Irons would have obviously been the best choice
but if you check his IMBD, he's pretty busy lately

Honest question: have you ever seen the Lion King? And if so, specifically which scene had humans in it?

nah, man. Never.
you clearly misunderstood my post or are just looking for something to be angry about. Probably a bit of both.

So, I'll ask you again, which scenes in the lion king have humans in them?

I'm not angry, I just think you're a dullard

I was under the impression this was going to be some sort of broadway shite where the actors are actually playing the various animals
is this just voice overs?
what the frick is live action, then?
may be it seems
eta IMBD shows just voices and I see live action is what the new Jungle Book was, except this movie obviously has no humans. Clearly they got black folks for these voices for PC reasons, which is a bit ridiculous, but I stand by my statement that it's still nothing to be up in arms about.

I don't have anything to contribute to the direction this thread has gone. I just want to point out that Timon is a meerkat.

Nope.

Yup

None of it. This movie doesn't have humans. They called the jungle book live action basically because of Mogli. They're calling this live action but they really just mean realistic CGI as opposed to traditional animation.
Now do you agree with my earlier points?

which points? That they should bring back all the old voices? I don't think that really matters. The only one that I will probably notice is different is Scar, and I do agree Jeremy Irons is the only voice for that role.
I also edited above
I'd actually argue that they shouldn't bring back the old voices. Maybe for us old folks who remember the Lion King. But these celebrities are more popular with today's generation, so I get it.

JTT deserves any future roles as Young Simba.

I’m not understanding the “live action” when it’s 100% CGI
Posted on 11/2/17 at 5:35 pm to Breesus
I think they use a lot of actual landscape cinematography and overlay the realistic CGI characters on top of it. It very much resembles real life.

Lion King is based on the White Lion, which is based on old African tales. I have no issue with a movie set in Africa having black characters.
The original did too. Mufasa.
So what, it's all black. What difference does the race of the voice actor play on your enjoyment of the movie?

It doesn't. I just hate Glover.
And the three in most upset about are white. Rogan/Eichner/Oliver are all going to suck.
