Is this movie considered a good movie or a bad movie?
I love it. Love Costner baseball movies as a rule, but a friend told me he thought it sucked. Doesn’t matter to me I still love it.
And Kelly Preston is a smoke show!!!

Melodramatic but appealing nonetheless

I didn't watch it for the longest time because I was told it was a bad movie. When I finally got around to watching it, I don't know what movie they saw. It was solid.

I enjoy it, it’s not a great film, but it is entertaining.

I really enjoy it. Has enough baseball for guys, and enough of everything else that appeals to women.

Baseball, Costner, and Vin Scully. Hard not to enjoy a movie with that combination no matter what the side romance story is. And yes, Kelly Preston is a smoke show in it.

I've always said this is the best date movie ever... great baseball story for the guys along with a romantic story for the ladies.

I enjoyed it.

Some unexpected feels.

And, yes, Kelly Preston is a smokeshow.

I loved it. A little hokey and melodramatic but the baseball scenes are great. I always thought some of the bad reviews had more to do with an anti-Costner attitude that seemed to form in the mid to late 90's. I think people got tired of him playing the same character over and over and were fatigued of him by that point.

I always liked John C Reiley's "we're the best team in baseball/we don't stink" monologue.

Very under-rated movie IMHO.

The scene after the game in his hotel room when he realizes that he has just done the nearly impossible bu has no-one to enjoy/share it with is very poignant.

Of course I have a bias towards his movie as I was a pitcher myself.
