Is the 4th pic that dude from The Dark Knight and Mortal Kombat? He is a terrible actor, IMO.

Probably not but the fact the original creators left the project doesn’t lead me to get my hopes up. I’m more looking forward to what they come up with over at Avatar Studios.

I was impressed when the first cast photos were released. However, now I’m not buying this actress as Azula after seeing this photo. She doesn’t really have the bone structure to pull off the mix of mischievous, sneering and psychotic.

I’ll wait until I see her acting, people seem to forget Azula was 14. Not many 14 year olds out there that can look intimidating

Yeah it’s hard to judge from just a photo. She’s one of my favorite characters, in that her personality and behavior throughout the show is critical in lending itself to the climax of her (and someone else’s arc) in Book 3.

However as I mentioned I need to temper my expectations on this show knowing that Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko left over “creative differences” (ie likely code for Netflix deviating from source material).

The impression I got was that they disagreed on money, because to translate the animation well would be expensive. Netflix had already committed a lot of money to it and this was when streamers were starting to reign in budgets so I don’t think Netflix wanted to give them a bigger budget so they took a deal with Paramount to make more animation instead.

This is what casting to what the character is supposed to look like...fricking looks like! Remember before a few weeks ago, before we got convinced that this was never a thing...when we ALL expected this?!? Before we got talked into "blind casting" or accepting the race swap and sex swap of long established characters for "diversity" reasons?

Way back when...this is the type of casting we all expected, and if a studio failed at it they already started way behind.

Anyone familiar with the cartoon can take one look at those and know EXACTLY who is who.

No idea if it'll be any good, or if it'll stay true to the source...but these are a home run.

Where are all the white actors?? How dare they use racially correct actors. Wasn't Matt Damon, Scarlet Johannsen or Christian Bale available?

This is a perfect example of appropriate casting based off the source material.

Cast characters as they are designed.

There shouldn’t be a single white, black, or Hispanic actor in this show.

looks like they crushed casting, costume, and makeup, as I can look at those photos and know exactly who they are supposed to be.
