So “too many prominent characters” is so far one

This is absurd. Please list the bad acting by the prominent characters.

I think it’s the Johnny sac actor whom he’s referring to.

I started a few weeks ago as well. Wrapping up season 2.

Gotta say, I don’t get the hype. Episodes seem slow and there isn’t the “can’t wait til the next episode” feeling.

Coming from someone that thinks Breaking Bad is the GOAT, I’m disappointed. What makes matters worse is that I love most mob movies.

Wondering if Sopranos in 2019 different then first watching in 1999 (ie was probably good initially but too much good television since making comparisons difficult).

Downvote away.

Into the 3rd season now. First time watching it also.

It’s fricking awesome.

Wait til you get to S3, episode 11 “Pine Barrens”

I think that’s the best episode of the whole series and arguably one of the best episodes in TV history.

I’ve been thinking of starting it too. Have never seen it and I know I will love it

Wish I could forget about all the episodes and start over. Have fun.

I’m in the middle of season 6 of my first watch. Very good show, Tony is one of the GOAT tv characters without a doubt. But I feel like it hit a bit of a lull in season 4 and middle of season 6. Too many times I found myself not really in a rush to watch the next episode. I know many have this show as their best of all time but I doubt I will have the same opinion when I’m finished (10 episodes left). I think watching it in 2019 compared to 20 years ago makes a significant difference. I’m sure watching this live and realizing this show was something new and that it would change television has a significant impact. Regardless, it’s still very good and definitely worth a watch if someone hasn’t seen it.

Cliffhangers suck

I'm glad the Sopranos didn't rely on that cheap tactic

I’ve posted this before but of course in pop culture you know about the finale cutting to black and all that...

Knew it was coming and still wasn’t sure I was breathing when it happened . It was superb. That last handful of episodes were amazing.

Usually it’s just a churn to the finish but Sopranos absolutely nailed it .

Why did he burn Artie's restaurant? Because he wouldn't take the cruise tickets?

Robert Iler isn't that bad. He's supposed to be awkward and later beta and i think he pulls it off well.

Some secondary characters/extras with speaking parts were bad though. Jackie Jr. in particular.

Yeah, I think from the beginning the writers wanted AJ to have no redeeming characteristics at all, either as a good person or as a mobster heir. Just a shitty kid/person overall.

With the scripts, I'm not sure it could have been acted better under any circumstances.

Artie's restaurant? Junior was going to have someone murdered there. He was trying to save the reputation of the restaurant. Seems an odd way to do it though.

Don't feel bad. I just finished the series a month ago. It holds up pretty well considering when it came out.

AJ catches a lot of hate from people but he had some great lines throughout the show.

IIRC, season 3 had one of my favorite Sopranos scenes, with Pat Parisi and Gloria Trillo.

Also one of the best quotes from the series came out of that scene. I won’t spoil it though for all the guys in this thread who haven’t seen it yet.
