I tried watching S1E1 this weekend and it seemed all the show was about was kids taking drugs so I finally turned it to something else. Does it eventually have a plot or does it just continue to be kids taking drugs?

You can’t fight back against the mob, if Nate defends himself it will be a Sosa/Montana Scarface shootout, he will just send more guys.

At some point it moves to alot of visuals of Sidney Sweeney's grade A tiddies.

the nate storyline that is, is to portray him in the most cuck like manner possible.

I think they are trying to show that the 2 people who were so confident and powerful in high school, Nate and Jules, are now weak. Nate went from the jock who ran the school to having his wife do OF and being constantly beat to shite. Jules was hooking up with all these older men and so self-confident in seasons 1 and 2, but is now totally dependent on some man that uses him/her as a sex toy.

Rue on the other hand is clean and starting to take more control of her life, arguably. She broke free of Laurie and was in control for a bit working with Alamo, but now is back in the control of the DEA.

Cassie has the most power of any of them ironically, but is too needy for validation to recognize any of it.

I kind of like the Maddie storyline. Feels like they are doing a "boss bitch" storyline well for her. On one hand it's all girl power, but then on the other hand it's through the exploitation of other women. It's, at least superficially, a complex story arch.

I think overall what I like about Euphoria is that on the surface you can enjoy it as just trashy TV, but Sam actually has some deeper thoughts buried into it if you want to dig.

If you "finally" turned it off before finishing one episode, it's safe to say your attention span might not be good enough for this one.

Shows typically don't win a bunch of Emmy and awards if it's just about something as basic as kids taking drugs.

I will say I fast forwarded a few times in S1-2 to skip some tranny scenes.

Damn, Alamo’s Momma was ice cold for that. Felt bad for Preston.

Nate took yet another beating. "You'd think he'd take a class or something and learn how to fight at some point."

They are really driving the point home that this high-school badass athlete is really just a pussy at heart.
