I don't this she is dead. Definitely left it open to interpretation but since there will be a season 2 now I'm sure she will be alive.

True could have "died" and season two starts with her getting Narcan.
Though unless that line was Fentanyl that shouldn't have been fatal.

Yes. It seemed like it was an emotional manipulation. Going to the dance, ignoring/hiding from her to talk to the other girl, then saying I love you? Just felt like she was using her for the whole episode.

For sure. And then dressing her up how she wanted Rue to look. Felt the pain for Rue. Especially when you find out about the hoodie.
