Eddie Murphy's "Candy Cane Lane" on Amazon Prime may be the worst holiday movie I've seen

It was terrible. The cast, except Murphy, was awful. And it was far from Murphy's best. The premise had promise, but writing fell completely flat. Plot stunk. Characters made little sense. Wasn't funny, though it tried overly hard to be. The girl that played the evil elf was just horrendous. David Alan Grier as Santa? Pass. Nick Offerman playing with a British accent? No thanks.

Don't waist your time on it.

Eddie Murphy has been a shell of himself for nearly 20 years now.

He's just like Adam Sandler
As long as some streaming service is ready to shell out a nice payday they have no shame

Dashing Through the Snow with Ludacris might be worse

I'll always be a fan, but him apologizing for his comedy specials was an indicator of how he's somewhat fallen

Tough to watch former comedic geniuses try to ride that horse into the ground to stay relevant.

Some just age better than others.

The animated movie “Leo” on Netflix that just came out is solid.

For every one decent Sandler movie, he has another three that suck with his netflix deal

I just don't understand this. When I look at Murphy and the stars that are in his situation, I think back to the Tom Hanks interview where Letterman asked him how he went from Turner and Hootch and Joe vs the Volcano to doing movies like Philadelphia and Forest Gump. Hanks' response was, "I learned how to read a script."

I don't know if it's ego or just greed that makes these talented stars think that their presence alone will make a bad movie good.

Haven’t seen a lot of holiday movies have you? Maybe one of the worst with a major actor, but it is in no way one of the worst overall.

I disagree. Sandler found an ingenious way to hang out with his friends and have Netflix pay them millions to do so. That’s the American dream. When he gets bored he will throw out an award worthy independent performance like Uncut Gems

I didn't even need to watch the trailer to know that this would be bad.

It is frickin' terrible.

Eddie Murphy once said, he slept walked through the making of The Golden Child...well this was a script-induced Coma.

The only thing I think of when seeing his name in a movie these days is that he is playing four different characters in fat suits.

Meh, it was fine for what it was. Wouldn’t have paid to watch it but was fine as an Amazon Prime view.
