Dang that looks great. Also I’m curious if they show his sister. They are some very weird scenes in the book dealing with his sister that are hard to picture in my mind

no thanks, all you idiots downvoted me for saying it will be years before the next part comes out.

So you want a movie of this scale to be released after a few months?

i dont like waiting 3 years to see the next part of an unfinished movie, by that time the young chracters will all be old

Math is really hard huh?

And fwiw, if there is another movie after part two, it's not the "final chapter." Dune is split up in two parts, this movie will finish the main story. The third movie would cover a separate book.

Haven't watched the first movie... I can't get into it for some reason. Is it actually a good movie that I should try to stick it out for?

We're barely two pages in and already have four boner jokes based just off the trailer. Yea, it's good.

The sexual humor over trailers has gotten so cliche, I'm starting to think there are really people getting off on Dune previews.

What are you talking about? Part 2 is the final chapter of Dune. There have been no confirmed reports of other movies actually being planned. Villeneuve has said he might want to make Dune Messiah, but that is set a dozen years later (and is very weird so will likely never happen). There were eventually about a dozen sequel books to Dune, but the original book was not written to be the start of a series. It is a self-contained complete story and Part 2 will finish it.

You're in luck. I heard they're wearing Bermuda shorts in this one.

I still can't get over how closely the first film followed along the same path as the 1984 David Lynch version.

The second half of Lynch's film, however, was where his project fell apart due to the short runtime.

I expect this one will be much better.

Villenueve wants to film Dune Messiah to finish out Dune as a trilogy, but I don't think he necessarily wants to do it immediately after Dune PII (depending on how well part II does, the studios may not allow him to wait around very long though).

More than likely, it's looking like he will do Cleopatra(rumors of using Zendaya?) next, and/or Authur C Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama. Also read where he's the #1 desired director to helm the next Bond movie. Honestly would love to see him do Bond. He could do the franchise justice by decucking Bond and repairing the damage from the woke over the last few years

Agree. The Lynch version gets a bad rap. I still enjoy it, though the ending is rushed and they took some liberties with the fremen powers.
