Was a pretty big letdown and I expected more from the multiverse and what the MCU is building towards now instead of just Wanda vs Strange. America Chavez was terrible and straight from the CW. The only redeeming part of the movie was Wanda annihilating the Illuminati and Zombie Strange.

It was a really bad movie. And this is coming from a guy who's favorite Avenger is Scarlet Witch, loved WandaVision and the first Dr Strange. It was just a horrible movie. The Multiverse is going to be bad for story telling going forward. Just makes for cheap, easy, writing.

Ask 100 people what they think of when they hear the word America.

99 people will respond “the USA” or some equivalent.

1 person (you) will respond “the continents”

Watched last night for the first time and couldn’t believe how bad it was.

I own all of the Marvel shite on blu-ray through the conclusion of infinity war. Enjoyed the first Dr. Strange, but this one was boring as hell and seemed so forced.

I would recommend seeing the following movies:
1. Dr. Strange 1
2. Captain America Civil War
3. Avengers: Infinity War
4. Spiderman: No Way Home
5. Wanda/Vision

This movie picks up right after the end of Wanda/Vision

NWH doesn’t directly impact MoM, but there are a couple of references you otherwise wouldn’t really understand.

Putting that aside, if you have interest in Marvel and comic movies in general go watch No Way Home. It’s one of the 3-5 best films they’ve done and, imo, THE best Spider-Man film.

From a thread earlier:

Watched the new Dr Strange last night and it was entirely meh. Raimi did a poor job directing that movie and just was not an enjoyable experience on top of that.

100% your fault because Wanda/Vision provides 80% of the setup to this movie. We see Wanda lose her brother in Civil War, then lose her husband in Infinity War. We see Wanda deal with that grief in Wanda/Vision which serves as her bridge to becoming the villain in Multiverse of Madness.

Seems kinda stupid for a purportedly huge movie to rely so heavily on a limited access series for so much source material.

I really thought that when America tossed witch Wanda into the house with mom Wanda and the kids, and mom Wanda told witch Wanda not to worry because the kids would be loved, that mom Wanda was going to then absolutely wreck/kill witch Wanda for messing with her kids.

(That sentence was a fricker to write)

You sure you were watching? I had no idea it was going to be there and it was clear they were making every effort to highlight it. Was impossible to miss.

I was sure I was seeing things because I hadn't heard about it beforehand.

Yeah I didnt notice, nor do I really care.

I didn't notice it either. But did you see who you were responding to? He probably didnt either, found out on here there was a pin on her jacket and that gave him the go ahead THEY MADE EVERY EFFORT THEY COULD TO HIGHLIGHT THIS 1X1 SIZE PIN. They tried to highlight it multiple times but the only photo you can find is one you can barely tell what it is. Even harder to tell during the movie.

So I rewatched this on Disney+. Honestly, while this might be blasphemy to some folks, I probably enjoyed it better at home, than I did in the theater. It get colorful and psychedelic at times, but there really weren't a lot of epic "must see on IMAX screen" scenes. The sound especially; and I saw it the same place I saw TG Maverick (which WAS awesome on the big screen). I have a decent home theater setup, and this did not push the bass at all... that's acceptable at the house, but disappointing in a theater, when you go in expecting your senses to be wow'd.

BTW, I didn't notice the pin, either time. I barely noticed the skull on the right side of her jacket, didn't in the theater at all, only picked up on it because I DID try to look at her some in the rewatch.
Main thing I noticed was that she looked like a teenager wearing some clothes that were a bit small on her frame, not sexy-tight, but "that's a 12 yr old's jacket and you're 17" tight.
